The CoC still stands, even in PvP.

Bah , i thinks thats kinda a weak thing to say. Have you ever met a French person IRL?

Yesterday a lot of germans an french were talking there native language ( yes ,even one refusede to speak english)

But i grouped with 3 friendly frenchies! One of them didnt understand english at all, so we spoke both engliush and french.

Imho, this is the chance to improve my French with a video-game

imo it will be pk's Vs Pkk's .

the 1st few weeks there will be TONS of pk's around but imo most of them wont lasst long due to them being pk'd themselves so much that they will have no con / no cash and no armor thats green con+ hence a lot of folks will leave .

it will be at least 1-3 monhs imo before pvp settles down and the main guilds will emerge . then it will just be constant relic raids / keep raids / killing enemy guilds . etc etc will be fun n long run but pvp will piss you off and be v slow at 1st due to all the lower lvl pk's who wont ever get to lvl 15-20 ,

and i dont think it will be a nationality thing . millenium are a french guild and they seem v friendly . same with a cple of other guilds "varied nations" its the individuals not the nationality . im sure there is tons of a$$holes from the uk just as much as germany and france .

1. German players asking if you were german, if you wernt they didnt wanna know you.

2. French hmmm same thing as number 1

3. English hmmm if like me will soon say sod it and not wanna know german/french players.

Thus 1st post is probably going to be right in its going to turn out to be german vs french vs english players and then dont forget the fact that the dutch and swedish players will form their own guilds as well so thats 5 countries fighting each other.

4. Do they really feel that 1 PvP server is going to be enough?? After seeing the test server at none peak times i severly doubt that the 1 server will be anywhere near enough!

5. If they wanted german servers, french servers and english servers then they SHOULD make the same in PvP servers as well!

Problems are those certain French/German players with absolutely no knowledge of basic english except "me spek no englich"...

Also its well known French and Germans keep their language in high regard and value it, thus dont bother to use english. OFC this doesnt apply to all, but even the few give bad rep to all.

Sure there are loads of nice players from both countries... but still they should respect the fact that Camlann will be an English server, and behave according. And Public (broad, /yell, /say) should be performed in english...

Yeh its true that the French and German just speak their own language out loud. They even beg for money in their own language (dont think he'll get much money :/ )
It's kinda sad they can't or dont wanna speak english
Think of all the Scandinavian, Dutch, Belgian ,Spanish people and so on who atleast speak or try to speak it :/

Maybe it's an advantage if u know a bit of German or French, they might respect u a bit for it and gank you less.

To clear things about germans a bit... _Every_ german kid learns english from the 5th class on till it leaves the school. So the german players who can't speak english are less than 12 years old or just to dumb to learn english at school. I am a german myself and I'm playing on Prywden with players from UK, Norway, Denmark and Sweden and I have no problems speaking english.

You don't have to forget 1 thing: most germans come from german servers where they just used to speak german. They aint used to meet foreign players.

Biggest problem might only be game-terms. When I started playing an alt on a german server i was lost: I didn't know how to ask for a dmg-add, i didn't really know how to ask for a ride/group and wasn't even sure if buffs were called buffs in german, too... and I am german, just playing on excal mainly
So as it was allready said people are just too lazy and are used to speak in their respective languages, especially when they are among their own kind.
I think it's really sad that a lot of people show this "they should speak english or sod off"-attitude, cause this is not an english server, but it's the european server. And someone proposing to report people for speaking french in broad-chat: go ahead, i'm sure you make some people laugh a bit

It is kinda rough on people to have to talk English though. They went to the French/German servers so that they could speak in their own language, and the ones that wanted to/could speak English went to the English servers.

But it is an English server, and even though I can get by in both french and german, any and all conversation by me is going to be in english.

Fact Beta had french, german and english servers to split the coutries apart so they could speak their own tongue.

Fact that why they have chosen to make it an english server when most play on the german servers is well hmmmmm (or is it just GOA's excuse to give english users a 3rd server)............probably

Me well i carnt understand a word of french/german so well i do what they do and fob none naitive players off (or pk them if there green or grey) which is what most are doing in there anyways

well it is like this. they have 1 server. what is the way to get most ppl there? well you need to make sure that everyone understand. so english is the only option. if they would have a french then no germans or englishspeaking would play. and that is ALOT of players. if it where german then ALOT still couldn't play. and now, it is english. ALOT can play, some that are under the age of 12 could not, but all from sweden(and every other place that has alot of english teaching) can(i am swedish), as we learn english from first grade(i think).

One french speaking english = he worked at learning a foreign language, respect to all dutch, swedes, guys from norway that speak english too, but can't /clap to a brit for speaking his own language?

Well, you can actually expect french and german people to speak english, but you can't expect english to speak another language but their own, so server had to be in english...
