Popping up on dodgy sites everywhere, shops on Friday in the U.K. is probably the most likely date for legit. Can't wait to play this game, reminds me so much of the golden years of PC gaming.

CoH is class no doubt. I love C&C though, the whole storyline and universe is captivating.

Not sure but I bet some smart arse finds a hack if they haven't changed it for retail. Either that or alot of people will complain and they will patch it.

Its a fairly hefty download if you get it naughty style (Though i do intend to buy it too, im just too impatient to wait). I really enjoy it TBH since i love the whole cheesey FMV thing.

Have to say it feels a bit same old, done this before however with a breed as good as C+C thats a good thing, and they could of easily arsed it up like with TA->Supreme commander. My biggest gripe so far is the new race is a bit OP given the default unit AI. They have silly range and my units just sit there and take a beating rather than auto engaging meaning i go tend to another base and lose 1/2 my units to a bit i wasn't paying attention to, grr ;p

BTW 360 version isnt out till May IIRC :O

Feels like a watered down TA with a swanky graphics engine, which to me is sad as i loved the orginal. Don't get me wrong its not bad but MP doesn't interest me that much and the SP was very weak meaning an overall poor experience for me.

I'm actually starting to get in to it a bit now and starting to enjoy it. I know what you mean in that it's not a patch on TA (which was the best RTS in its day) but it's still a lot of fun.

I was talking about Supreme Commander too :)

*Very* satisfying when you manage to make a base that essentially takes care of itself so you can go off and focus on an attack.

The first C&C was fantastic on the Saturn.

Who is everyone being by the way? I'm being GDI. Beginning to wish I started as NOD now though, most of GDI's weapons are a bit too basic.

Did I miss something here. You can only play as NOD or GDI. What's this about Aliens?

After you complete both factions goto campaign menu and the alien campagn magically appears. It is a short campaign (4-5 missions iirc) but it explains quite a bit and leads into either the expansion or C&C 4.

Gonna grab it for the 360.

Fucking lol. Playing an RTS on a gamepad is like steering a car with your knees. Damn relaxing but not really the greatest control method ever. In fact I can't think of anything worse.....

Think it depends, playing on a gamepad may actually be easier for someone new to the RTS genre given the easy placement and obvious use of buttons. Also with force sensitive analog sticks + 2 of them scrolling isnt so bad these days.

All that aside a) I wouldnt really play on a console b) You'd never be succesful on Harder modes and c) you'd be raped by PC players.

class, still stuck near end of nod campaign, damn that stupid "steal all the buildings" mission :(

aliens are cool, but nothing beats the secret Dinosaur missions in the original CnC addon :D

it's not that hard but for a tard like yourself it's probably hard to grasp.

Left stick = move cursor

Right stick= Rotate cam

A = select Unit

B= Cancel

Hold A+ press X/Y/RT/LT = groups

Yes i can see it's really fucking hard eh?

Dumb shit.

Woah, steady on! :)

I think what Bodhi is trying to say is that a gamepad rarely feels as natural a control method as the keyboard and mouse - the speed and ease with which you can move units about and stuff has always seemed slower with a gamepad than with a mouse.

Hes not saying its hard particularly just that the interface is not as well suited to the RTS genre as the keyboard + mouse, atleast thats how I read it.

and tbh I'm inclined to agree, I first played the original C&C on sega saturn yonks ago, when I finally got around to playing it on PC I was amazed at how much faster and easier it was.

I guess it could just be down to preference, but moving a cursor around with an analogue stick is imo naturally slower than a mouse.
