Look around the forums for various games, check out the various names of games and see how often they are used. Check when the last post was. Check how often things are arranged for your benefit (when I say your, I obviously mean the paying customers, the people who keep this place going)
As is probably obvious from my title, I'm the Bf1942 liaison. With the help of Adam the other liaison, and the admin team which includes Deadmanwalking we try to arrange at least 1 game a week, with a few different events planned as soon as we can whip up the interest. We have a small but fairly well used channel for the game. We dedicate a few hours a week to this for no other reason than wanting to play and wanting to help BW/Game.net.
Most liaisons get free subs to Game.net. Part of your duty to game.net is to sit in the admin channel in case anyone needs help. This channel is the equivalent of an old boys club, words like ought have no place here, and everyone is jolly decent to each other. The current concern in the channel is that some people have lost their vhost, and that some people's subs are running out.
We recently arranged a community game for bf42. Only 8 people turned up, whilst I ran around looking for more people, 4 of the liasons/admins for other games discussed what EA server they were going to head onto for a game. This angered me, and I made a point of bringing up the issue of community games and that things were probably in a bad way when instead of the liaisons or admins doing things, instead subs had to organise things themselves. For this I'm now in trouble.
Nothing's changed, and nothing will change. This isn't a personal thing, as I imagine anyone who does make the effort is as frustrated as I am by the actions of people who just can't be bothered whilst 'reaping the benefits'.
People, don't sub until Game.net can garuntee that people who are their representatives in the various games are sufficiently motivated to arrange things for YOU, because unless there's a sudden influx of 50,000 subs, things won't change.
