Still can't get better than 30kb/s now another nine hours for part 2

I'm getting very annoyed with this atm, again my download stopped after a speed drop from 80 kb/s to 15 kb/s, reporting an error in french a bout something divison flottante or something like that. Then when i restarted the program i could only download the last part, so at this moment i dont' have a part 1, and i am only able to download a part 0 at a speed of 17 kb/s or so, which would take me about 13 hours to complete

Unimpressed now - preordered two copies.Upon recieveing the "preorder available" e-mail i clicked the link and clicked on the "buy" option at the site.Which then promptly told me "preorder confirmed" and spammed me out another "preorder request" e-mail.Support stopped replying around 1830 gmt, i know its good friday but you'd think they want my business <shrug>.

Made me decide i wont buy catacombs for a few weeks yet if at all - dont want to pour more money into the game unless it revives it.

The game is back on preorder, we want to be sure those that have preordered first can be served before allowing more people to buy, if at all.

So until all the people with preorder:available have gotten theirs no one else will be served for now.

I really think so, Im having the dlgamer.com client running also on this computer at the same time.
I do also want the cd files thats why I still have it going, and I doubt that they won't allow you to dl the cd files later since you haven't got what you paid for yet.

On a side note, my download speed is dropping continually atm and the ETA is staying at 3:05mins (whilst the file is still downloading) - Is this cause for concern? Will it eventually reach 0kb/s ?

Well...

My copy decided that it had downloaded after 936mb - haven't figured out exactly when it stopped although it was after 4pm and I started it at 10:30 this morning...

I've got me a corrupt part 1 and nothing else <sulk>

On the bright side, I have a CD key and registered it <yay me> and changed my update.dat to download things that way instead...

I'll get it working if it kills me!!!

From what I can see atm, there is really no need for the Catacombs cd if you just burn down the whole ToA folder (updated with Catacombs) on a DVD.

Thats what I did to update my computers (having 4 comps running daoc)

what error message do you get? sounds like it's not finished activating your second account somehow but if you validated at 2pm...

As for the others, we are out of keys right now, we do have a couple around that we will make available when we are done serving the earliest persons that pre ordered if we still have some left then.

Our selling DAoC was meant as a service to the community for the people who have trouble getting Catacombs because of payment means or of being in countries far from stores (like some of the polish, south african or tchecoslovacian clients we served).
It was never meant to be the aim of a "let's all ditch our preorders and only buy through Download" frenzy.

We'll find a solution, hopefully before Tuesday but you will understand that while we are still at work and will be until the wee hours of the morning like everyday, not everyone is as crazy as us and at 20pm most our contacts are unreachable.

Ok i need some help. Download is finished but i have only one (around 1400mb) file, if i distract the file it ask for a second disk but i dont have it, so how to install it?, do i have to extract it to the TOA folder or so?

Seems those techies do like being beat upon.

Some of you have corrupted files, you are downloading Catacombdigital.uk.part1.exe and Catacomb.digital.uk.part2.rar .

On the second file there is a " . " that shouldn't be there between catacomb and digital, this concerns only a minority of people.

If you want a FASTER download with less stress on these servers, you can do a few things:

1st. You can copy your toa folder to a new catacoms folder and edit update.dat and replace the word "atlantis" with the word "catacombs" everywhere it is possible

2nd. Of course you can use the "one friend downloads it, then sends it arround" way, which can be faster for all...

For CD Keys... I am surprised if GOA is unreachable to provide more CD keys... I think if they use you as a backup plan to get out from a nasty situation they should support you in it.

But of course I learned, for some goa officials, sprintlink and VU routers and network in france is just an illusion, and more. It is sad, how the nice work by some friendly GMs are ruined by these officials. "They can't offer" just CD Keys, they can't offer the mini installers like for SI and TOA which download with the patchers, they can't make mini installers copy existing files from TOA dir to reduce download size... The problem is with disribution, and with deals they made. I don't know how it will get fixed this time.
