It is absolutely not a cheat. Look at Quake 2, all the tricks you could do in that to move around fast and everyone did it.

Its just a question of it being an acceptable tactic to use or not.
I agree in CS it should NOT be allowed.
But I think in TFC it should be allowed.

What I hear is that the next patch comes out u can still bhop but it wont get u as much of a speed increase.
You will still get people moving around really fast around the map because you can use a rocket or conc for the inital burst of speed and use the air steer.

Imo its fairer if you can still go fast but only at the cost of your health and armour, or having one less grenade.

Yeah but it's getting crazy This ain't quake 2, deathmatch is a different game, this game has different speeds for each class, and is balanced as such. Sure i agree with you on rocket/con speeding up, because it is at a cost, kinda evens it out
For instance iv'e been speeding myself up from day one, i can shift my model at half the speed again, but the other week i came across this so called 'bunnyhoping' guy, he was shifting at 'double' the speed of me, and it wasn't from airwalking either, it was pure speed, as fast was a boost takes you but without no rockets.

Almost as fast as the old clock hack, imho thats just shite

I played a game of TFC the other day and hwg were bunny hoping past sg's and even getting to the flag room letting rip with the ac and escaping with the flag now you tell me bunny hoping should be allowed in TFC again .

Well I think that TFC where you could only walk the normal speed would be dull. Right now tfc is a fast and frantic paced game and given the choice of switching airsteer off to stop bhop or leaving it on, I would much rather leave it on.

I think TFC will be better if the bhop speed is reduced with the next patch so you dont get offy HWG, but I will still be using rockets/grens for big speedups and airsteer to zip from A to B.

As is is right now u can get alot of speed at no cost, which I agree is not good but I dont think the situation is so bad that I would want it stopped altogether.

I think skimming is acceptable where a player uses like you say a rocket or gren etc to power the movement but then rather than holding the speed the player should decrease with every touch of the floor untill back to normal speed again
