Without wanting to piss on peoples cornflakes here, I'd have very little sympathy if it were an actual bullfight and not a

contest of ‘recortadores’ in which those taking part try to dodge the bull as it runs around the arena.

Plus, 10 year old with a stomach wound != funny :\.

Cruel blood sports != entertaining. Recortadores or not, the entire sport is barbaric and disgracful.

Is this particular one a blood sport though? The article suggested it was just running away from a bull, which while not the most progressive thing in the world isn't as bad as bullfighting.

But they still wind the bulls up before hand, so yes, it's cruel and babaric.

And what happens to them after? They given treats?

I'm not saying I agree with it - I'm just not baying for the blood of the fans of this particular event as much as I would be if it were actual bullfighting.

Pure speculation, as usual, you just talk shit without any proof.

It wasn't a bullfight, nath is quite right.

Also enforcing our values on other cultures is stupid. It's not like we don't have animal cruelty in this country.

The way our meat has bin treated before it hits our table is far more barbaric. Certain horse races should be banned aswell. Fox hunting isnt of this time anymore. Etc.

To make my opinion short, they should decide over it. It's their culture. Then again I wouldnt go to one.

If all goes right (and most of the time it does) the bull is killed pretty quick. I'd even say nearly as quick as happends in a factory (electrically) and if you wanne go cynical - atleast the bull in the arena got a fighting chance to take some down with him.

I've bin to real bull fight's in the south of France and it wasnt pretty by any means. The worse I saw was a bull getting stabbed by a longsword for 7-8 times, but everytime it didnt go in the correct place. After 30min+ the bull collapsed on itself with 2 longsword poking out of him, spilling its guts and I mean literaly spilling it's own guts.

Also recently on tv it showed how a pig whas killing for "dinner" (somewhere in Portugal). 5 man held it down on a bench while the 6th cut it's throat. It's not "nice" to see, but how else you're gonne get meat? I mean we've gotten far to distant to what it actually takes to get the meat on our table.

Can a mod change the thread title? The bull was killed after, so it did concede.

Blood sport for all, eh. I also agree that it is cruel and unecessary.

If a 10-year old got hurt its actually his parents fault. I feel a bit sorry for the nipper but the parents neet twatting.
