Buffbots'n'camping

Ok today I'm told by Zapsis I'm not a real sb because I have started using my utility char Cindy (was'nt planned for this purpose but she has a fantastic ability to powerlvl specced 37+7aug 37+7mend rest cave - great friggs buffs etc) to buff pudz, I know ALOT of people have buffbots, only last week a post abotu a buffbot guild. What do people have against buffbots? other than the obviouse - that your getting owned cos of uber buffs or something. Also I would like to add that going emain as an sb its hard enough to find a group let alone get buffed in one, which is why so many sb's groups..

Albs complaining in IRC we're camping amgE>apkE road cos theres SO MANY' sb's i hear it all day every day, stop complaining we had to put up with Niar for godknows how long (until I made him quit with my sheer ownage ) and even now theres infils camping mmgE area's so stop the whining in IRC and stop using TS its unfair

you gimps need buffbots so I don't have a problem with it. Remember tho if you ever win a 1vs1 fight it's due to you being buffed and your enemy was not....

First off let me say I have nothing against buffbots, hell I plan to use one myself, but:

I think it is sad the game has degenerated to a state where buffbots are the norm.

More often than not, if you're lucky enough to take down someone from the other realm, they loose anywhere from 4-10 buffs.

In most cases it's all about envy tho, because you have a buffbot and they don't.

surely most of the fun of RvR is fighting and beating an equal level enemy? or even a higher level enemy?

if you`re buffed to shit to give yourself an unfair advantage then whats the point? go back to playing a hacked version of Diablo 2

well, i don't have a buffbot, so i might feel some envy like ragnarok said.

I can understand that a lower lvl needs a lot of buffs to survive in the frontier, but if you're a lvl 50 with a very high realm rank (meaning a lot of RA) and if you then feel the need to become even stronger,...well go ahead, but i can't say i like it.

Well , When is the fighting equal and fair? Hard to say really...8 vs 8 groups or what ever.....one group has shaman etc for buffs , heals the opposing group has not...buuhuuu they had buffs we hadnt? they had a mezzer we hadnt etc etc...the list can be long...

in the long run buffbots make no or less difference...

in groupbattles it doesn't make much difference

but when 1 vs 1 (which happens a lot when you're a ns/inf/sb) it does make a difference

In 1vs1 they do. A lot actually. guarded rapier firing its 150-170 every 1.8 seconds as opposed to 100-120 every ~3 seconds.
Cannot say i dont love +100 damage on perf and much better evasion rate. All this given that bot just leveled to 41 yesterday.
But well imo its a cheat. Sad that its so widespread, that you have to use it nowdays to stand a chance.

Yes , of course one on one it makes difference....but well how many times have I stumbled alone across an alone infil or scout <cough> almost never....

The best would be no buff bots , no RAs etc then it would be fair.....but then how fun would it be? maybe better but no one would care for rp , taking keeps(except for holding DF) , relics...

Like or not like....they are present so I guess we have to deal with it.....

Every noobie and his dog is playing a buffbotted assasin nowadays, free rp if you bring a group, sheer annoyance if you're solo.

Like I said...Buffbots exists , like or not like? so what....about thoose hundreds who run around in emain/odins etc...not many have their personal buffie so.

personnally I don't mind people who use buff bots.. in a group vs group situation they don't really come into effect.. in a 1 vs 1 situation it makes it a no lose situation for the unbuffed char, if he dies he lost cos of not being buffbotted if he wins, well he won so yay!! /cheer

Because with buffbots it comes an issue of RL money in my eyes.

Not all of us can afford getting a second comp, second account to make us more uber in the game...
Or even a second account for that matter.

When the experience in the game is decided by whom has most money in RL something is wrong in my eyes.

Totally agree with old.Iunliten on this matter. Buffbots are halfway a form of cheat - I would have liked to think that most players would NOT use them, though the ability should still exist...

Levels, and Realm Rank, with all the abilities make someone harder to kill. That takes time.

Fact: To get a buffbot you need to invest time and money.

And I think it is wrong that real life money should be able to buy an advantage compared to other players.

and to answer you necroscope if I had possibility. I probably would... But amazingly so far in hibernia I haven't seen a single buffbot so far(wouldn't wanna ruin things by brining one).

As I see it the only problem with buffbots is that they are invulnerable...you could even go as far as to say that they contravene the Terms of the game

If a shaman/cleric/druid did something in game to ensure that the enemy couldn't target him and therefore drop the groups buffs appeals would be flying in to RightNow, so why should the use of buffbots be any different...they can't be targetted and killed so they are therefore providing an unfair advantage.

Make buffbots vulnerable...let us be able to get to them and drop the players buffs and I think the complaints will drop.

Having said that...I'm off to level my bot

Never seen nightshade which looses less than five buffs upon death. But well, we know that hibs dont use buffbots

Agree with this and would be the only fair way imho. Something like 1500 range like a DD i would recon. Would still be an advantage for the buffed player, but would at least have a chance to take out the bot 1st

And Hib DOES have its buff bots, just not as many as the other realms due to our smaller population. But I personaly am usualy unbuffed and often solo when in RvR unless i go to emain and join the zerg (rare ) which would make me easy rp's at against an even con Inf of SB with a buff bot i'm afraid

Plz can we have a list of all the " I'm holly'r than god , I hate buffbot's " peopel , so we know who NOT to buff...Cause we cant have your honor being smudged because one of our bot's buff'd you.. god heavens no.. cause thats cheating.

And too the " even if I had 2 accounts and so on , I would never ever use one/create one.. LOL..and LOL some more
