Hmm seems to me if Shearing goes live i would rather have a Friar in my group for one of many reasons.

1: Tank who cant be sheared :)
2: he is able to rebuff bases while rooted and heal until the root wears off (hey no Det poor thing :( )
3: he has his own end regen
4: he hits for nice damage.
5: comes with his own line of resist buffs :)
6: he can COMBAT REZ!
7: he can aquire purge and certain artefacts to assist in preventing himself being mezzed/stunned as much.
8: last resort...he can heal. i dont expect him to though, nor rebuff unless he cant do anythign else.

Either way this is certainly making Buffbots stand in a precarious place now.
Oh we would still suffer from a lack of general damage output but we've been suffering this for a while now and we always seem to pull thrrough.

It also means maybe a 40 Enh 10 S rest R (30 something cant remember exact detail) would become more viable givent the right TOA kit out. (25% buff enhancement and MOA2 = buff cap) you got yourself a mobile buffbot who heals, shears the enemy (causing damage :p ) and add in the few pb interupts.

Both the cleric and the friar would be limited in what they can do at any one time in a fight, but a canny player will be able to use the right tool at the right time im sure.

The Str/Con single debuff will be the most used one, as will the single dex and the single str shears. (at least i will be)

The preference of tanks in an albion battle group will all depend on how Determination will be affected in the RA review.

i think what will be used most is a base con debuff from 1 cleric and a str/con from the other.
then are casters /assist :)

think youll find buff shearing just wont happen in RvR at all... if you get the jump on them then u mez and assist thru them...why the hell would u want to mez..buff shear (wasting time and possibly breaking mez) then assist on them anyway, if your assisting properly theyll be dead in less than 6s more if they have IP or Purge up...just assist fortehwin..cant really see a use for Buff shearing in open or FG RvR at all tbh... possibly more useful in standoffs like 'Mg's or Keeps' but even then what idiot cleric is gonna want to run towards the enemy first and try to shear a few buffs? your a looney if you do. :eek6:

And this one time, at band camp.

Seriously though, buffshearing is possibly the worst nerf to buffingclasses to date(thanks mythic for making us useful  again. I was so worried I was gonna be replaced with a bot). Sadly the ones that will be most affected by this nerf are casters of all sorts. Interrupting is far too easy as it is, with sheared buffs and debuffs it's gonna be easier than ever.

yes its a silly idea...and its going to unbalance everything...but even so looking at past record Mythic arent known for their sensible nature.
You cant deny that a single str/con shear in rvr will remove not only significant damage potential...but also a large number of hits in one fell swoop. add a standard debuff on top and the mercs will have a piss time killing them.

Same for any realm.

Don't wanna scare you caster but
hmmm i used to have 356 str ( slash 2h )
You can brabbel about str/con debuff but guess what
I got more and more str/con since toa kicked in with the new +xxx on cap.
so i think the overall effect will be that i have around 340 orso left when
i loose the str/con version so you be hit for the same amount of dmg as b4.
you need some artifacts for it but that is the whole idea.
overall no1 suppost to get a mayor kick ahead but then agian
some problems exsist already over 2 year tho :D

lol
that is so wrong :p

ull lose 93 str/con from a spec debuff and i think 75con and 75 str from the base ones.

now thats a total loss of 168 str/con
sumthin tells me toa wont help u get that bak :)

62 from bases but otherwise that's correct. Now add a str/con debuff on top of that and the standard 100% str-based weapon couldn't fight it's way out of a wet paper bag.

That is if u need all the amount off the buff , but since i hit max cap with yellow and red str buff i won't loos the full 75 str
take +15% on str cap then i would use it full but still not max
still is a pain if you loose the str/con tho won't argue
but tanks base str / con will get much higher tho.
We will see tho but not think rvr will change dramaticly over this tho

You are wrong. It's gonna be a completely different game, especially for Midgard who can't afford to field enough buffs for the entire group because of endregen being conc-based.

Since when did Midgard stop using Bufbots? Granted you would have to run back and renew now and then, but most group allready do this if they had many deaths in group...

vs good groups this "now and then" you talk about would be after every single fight. So Midgard stopped using buffbots since 1.69 goes live(if it does in it's current form).

AOE shearing could well take the bot out of buffbots, when you think about the impact of dropping aoe shears onto an assist train, the whole train is going to diminish in power. Same goes for dropping aoe dex/qui and aoe dex shears on a pbaoe box - those casters are going to start casting in slow motion. Taking a 48-50 buffspec toon into mainstream rvr isn't going to be the passive playstyle it is now, there's going to be spells to throw around. It will be useful to see if shears break cc or not, and much like debuffs I don't see them interrupting spells or breaking cc.

For a second I thought mid tanks would get the shaft from having their end regen sheared off, but there isn't actually a shearing spell that does that :p Same goes for druid haste and cleric spec af buffs, there's no shear spell for them so they can't be sheared.

I might be wrong but do people actually play a high aug/nurt/enh char because they like buffing so much or because buffs are needed before you move out, and from that point on you're there for heals and resists.

I'm not really looking forward to all these buffwars.. if rebuffing / buff shearing is the only thing I'm going to do in a fight..

booooooooooooooooooooring, but i might be wrong :x

Also 1000 range for buffing, 1500-1750 range for shearing. Lovely :twak:
