My mate online has that. Something like 2mb down, 1 up. Pretty nifty :D

Aye... a couple of years ago when I was in the 56k wilderness Scottish Power were running trials of Powerline Broadband, which were being followed back then by trials in the Winchester area. I am not sure how far towards a larger rollout they have got, but the site is still showing it as available:

Took me 6 years to get ADSL... not likely to switch it off right now ;)

unfortunatly thats only a 1meg line jup :(

its the 3meg up and 3 meg down thats got my attention

Agreed, but I think the main thing is getting the technology to work... if they can do that and it's commercially viable then the available bandwidth is just a question of cost vs demand for the backbone infrastructure.

When I was watching the subject more closely there were lots of possible objections being raised about interference from it in surrounding areas, although these were being strongly denied. Personally I hope it gets launched to the masses as this will increase competition aswell as availability in remote areas.

connection speed isn't the major bottle neck at mo, servers on net aren't the best for blistering speeds.... well some old crappor ones...
