It's neither Film nor DVD related though....

As there isn't a TV forum I left it in plain ol' entertainment.

noone yet, they ran through 50-11 and then showed the top 10 in no particular order. Over the next 10 weeks each one gets a showcase and you can vote online etc then in March they announce the winner.

Here is the list of the top 10, I'd love Fawlty Towers or Blackadder to win it but I think it's bound to be Only Fking Fools and Horses.

I hope it's OF&H, it's my favourite of the 10 without a doubt.

Oh, and whats more, Daivd 'Cheap as Chips' Dickinson is fighting for Of&H! :D

Agreed, OF&H is boring as sin.

Please God don't let it be Only Fools... it has its moments but...Jeezus :(

Blackadder for me, far and away the best.

If I had my way it would be Red Dwarf.. but from those it has to be Fawlty Towers.

What justice is there that the Vicar of Dibley is in the Top10 and The Office is 25?!

I voted Blackadder in the end...

Porridge or Black-adder.

I'm not sure about black-adder since we had the tapes at work and they were played all the time. It gets annoying after a while.

I saw some of the show briefly while channel hopping and they did say when showing The Office bit that probably the main reason it was that low was the voting was done last year some time and it only really hit the big time in the last series, with mostly cult fans before.

Or something.

Spaced - 66 ?!?!?!?

Apart from the possible exception of Blackadder this is the best Brit sitcom ever written.

Bloody public.

Personally I'd have put Steptoe and Son at No 1 but since it's not in the list I'd go for Blackadder, Fawlty Towers or Yes Minister.

Considering there's only 7 (I think) non-BBC comedies in the entire top 50 it's hardly surprising is it?

It was an open vote to get those as well btw, I voted.

Lol, good luck with that one.

Voted for BlackAdder as I never really thought any of the others were particularly funny. OF&H has it's moments, but that's probably due to the length of time it's been going now.

I would say 'Allo Allo' was probably the most sucsessfull Sitcom ever.

I have seen it on about every channel in europe over the years, whilts most others never realy left the bbc.

The top ten looks pretty good, tho I would kick Open all hours and Dads army out for The young ones and Red Dwarf

I agree there. How the hell can BREAD fooking Bread be higher than Bottom?

For me OF&H is the best by far, and how did the Vicar of Dibley get in the top 10? Red Dwarf should replace it!

Yes Minister:
There was a reason why it won the British Bafta for best comedy series 3 years running. It's incredibly funny and still so appropriate when you view it in the context of current politicians too.

Bottom was genius, the live shows were poop but the series was fantastic. I know them all line by line now but I still laugh just as much every time I watch them.

Yes Minister was very good, I think my favourite of the bunch would be Blackadder or Fawlty Towers. OF&H is a bit lame, since seeing David Jason in A Touch Of Frost it's obvious he's just Del Boy with a different accent, terrible actors, lame feel good storylines and even worse when they got 'serious' (ugh the crying in the lift made me cringe, so bad) ...anyone remember that?

Alan Partridge may not be the best...but it is fucking great was it a sitcom though?

Well, it was a comedy in a particular situation, I think that qualifies it.
