Good. The more that take risks the sooner the ridculous censorship laws get loosened.

From what I read its little to do with censor laws...if it was then they couldn't of shown it....it was just bad taste.

Bad taste in whose eyes though? It certainly wasn't in mine, nor in many, many other people's eyes...

Getting serious, paedophilia is, in the vast majority of cases, commited by a relative, so the media frenzy about paedophiles attacking kids in playgrounds is a load of shit. That is what he was taking the piss out of, not paedophilia itself.
I thought that special was hilarious, though I tend to giggle a lot anyway.:D Phil Colins in a Nonce Sence tshirt lol...

Making a program about nonces in a "funny" light is not good tv.dont kid yourself it's "avant-garde" or whatever.it aint.its just crap.

I saw this thing last night. Chris Morris is a fucking genius. And for the masses of you that missed the point. It wasnt making a joke of paedophilia, it was taking the piss of the fact that the media causes a frenzy about it etc.

Convincing Richard Blackwood to explain to the world that paedo's could make toxins come out of a childs keyboard to make him more 'suggestable' was a work of pure brilliance.

Yes and...its still not a subject to base a so called funny program on.

It amused me no end to see Phillipa Forester involved in the 'techie' bit with the fufme style plugins. She's really not as bright as Tomorrow's World makes out :/

Incidently, reading the paper today (lo headline - worst program ever iirc) it claimed a record number of complaints were recieved by the ITC and its counterparts (Why are there counterparts to a complaints department?) - in excess of 2000.

Having now watched it, It was unavoidably contraversial, but jesus, you'd have to be so overly braindead to see it as anything but humour. It amazes me that people can't see it. I think Morris'd have the biggest grin on his face this weekend, basking in his rather blatant glory as the people complaining/the media, etc have all done as he so clearly wanted, and proved him right.

It was no worse than his other ones

Incidently, I get the feeling that those who complained were those who watched the majority of the jokes going over their fickle little heads (though this isn't directed at anyone here, unless they feel it should be)

I wonder how someone who has suffered from such abuse finds this program.

Well chances are they wouldnt like it. But that's probably because they miss the point to. It wasnt making fun of child abuse..

Never said it was but I still consider something that takes the piss out of the news reporting of child abuse as bad taste but never mind you have your standards and I have mine.

lol how condescnding is that?

The media are totally fucked up on subject of paedophilia. They cause hysteria a whole lot of madness. I say good on them for saying something. The problem is, the media can say what they like as long as it's anti paedophilia. Anyone going against what they say must be sick. man!!!! what a load of bollocks..

The program was very amusing and portrayed the media hysteria for what it was, nothing more than an attempt to boost ratings.

Nobody in their right mind would find the activities of paediophiles amusing, that wasn't the point (though some people here just don't 'get it'). It was about the media's stirring up of (frankly moronic) members of the public.

Feeling distaste about child abuse is normal. Feeling distaste because a program portrays the reporting of child abuse as hysterical is laughable, and shows that the professed 'standards' are based on an unwillingness to look at things from an intelligent point of view (though lack of intelligence has never been a barrier to some people when they post their views here).

Your quite right...you and nath are on a roll so please continue with your shit analysis of the situation.

Assuming you meant condescending: I'm pretty sure that you intended your previous statement in a condescending manner. If you didn't fair does, but lets not drift off the topic. And lets not get in to insulting comments please...because then this thread will turn in to a flame war quicker than you can say paedophilie.

Nath it was never condescending it was just a summing up of this topic. I find it bad taste to do any thing related to child abuse and you and some others see it in a different context....not saying your wrong but neither do I consider myself to be wrong.

Fair enough.

You say it's bad taste to do anything about child abuse. I think it's pretty bad taste for the media to use paedophilia to sell newspapers etc..

And so good on chris morris and the others for having the balls to say something..

That's exactly it! It wasn't about child abuse, it was about the reporting of it.

If the Sun had run a column saying that most internet users are child molesters, by your standards it would be wrong to take the piss out of them.

As do I but....something puzzles me, ifs thats the case then why have a program taking the piss out of all the media mania over paedophilia by using certain scenes etc to display it....isn't it just a comedy program trying to stir and boost its figures ;)

I think that came across right

N

that was the whole point. It was exagerating what the media does to show the absurdity of it all
