because, in the case of Planetside and the other games i've mentioned. It's not the actual objective thats fun, it's how you do it, and thats usually different every single time.

Personally what keeps me playing such games is the quality of players i regularly group with.

Found an excellent guild on DAoC who got on amazingly well and had lots of drunken laffs and played the game in a light0hearted spirit that i love

Had an awesome clan for CS, same core of players for 2 years, lots of fun, used to do LAN gaming a lot, tourney meets etc. Again, it was never serious play, just fun

Am lucky to have found a great PS outfit who all play regularly, have a laff and are often the first ones into any battle (and consequently the first to die usually ).

Quality of players and the quality of the community, thats what makes a game great imo

As with my posting along a similar vein the purpose of them isn't just to say we're off, it's to give an opinion as to why we're off and to sound out anyone else who has similar feelings.
Call it a moan if you will, but humans love to moan so that's a good thing.
Any way, it looks like there are more people expressing similar "fed-up" feelings with PS.
Gameplay is good, content poor.

Anyway. i only play the game for about 3-5 hours a night and i still like it. If you play it too much you will get bored.

Thats sort of what i meant Faeldawn, you reach the objectives in fun groups of people you enjoy playing with, thats how you get to them.
