Dime, whilst I agree with the content of a lot of your posts you would have to be Fucking Mad to prefer Thatcher to Tony Blair.
I can only assume you didnt live (as an adult) through the thatcher-induced recessions , not to mention all the strikes. And the poll tax ! Good god man, its amazing how things change.
I would never even dream of hearing anyone say that , its truly astonishing to me.
Thatchers only claim to fame was the falklands war, that restored (rightly or wrongly, choose your preference) a lot of national pride and identity to this country. But she traded of it for 15 odd years, and in the process brought the health service to its knees, removed our coal industry, brought in the most unworkable and unfair tax in living memory, and all to benefit her big business chums. The tories deliberately lowered the interest rate right before an election to get them in, knowing full we ll it would spark a recession that lost me and countless others our jobs and livlehood. The queues at the dole office had to be seen to be believed !
I was 16 in 1980 and left scool then. A lot of my life was under that lunatic.
