I always got the feeling 99% of people who "have" the flu are lying.

I thought if you had the Flu you needed antibiotics or you'd end up in hospital...

can anyone clear up my messy thoughts?

Antibiotics is to help you fight bacterial infections. it does nothing at all to the flu, which is a viral infection so that's nonsense.

Infact I want to add that using antibiotics when it's not necessary is actually bad, because it can cause other bacteria to become resistant to those antibiotics causing a whole different and much harder problem to overcome.

There is nothing you can do about a viral infection then sleep much, and eat healthy so your body has enough vitamins etc to fuel its battle against those virii.
