The only reason I posted it was because its actually a common thing, people dont realise they have it Not suggesting that Wikipedia should replace our GPs! Although the waiting times would be shortend quite a bit

I also have Pirenial Rhinitis.

Here is an easy test.

Close your mouth and breath through your nose.

Place your index finger on the end of your nose.

Push the tip of your nose up and backwards towards the center of your eyebrow.

If you find your breathing becomes "clearer" then its probably a form of rhinitis.

Basically, the airway is too narrow for you to breath comfortably, normally this is because the lining in your upper nostril is swolen for some reason. (could be damage, allergy, etc) alternativley, it could just be an excess tissue growth.

Your breathing clears when you do the above because you are artificially forcing the airways wider.

There are various treatments... steroid spray, cream, minor surgery (cauterisation / tissue removal)

all of which i have had...

unfortunatly for me, several months later it simply came back. I guess my nose just like to have thin airways for some reason.

Breatheasy strips should help a lot, as there purpose is to widen the airways in your nostrils.
