The problem could be that I would keep expecting gosling to burst into some dreadful song and dance.

It was great but I can imagine non-fans getting a bit bored.

Looks like its flopped at the box office...the original bored me to death, I'll give it a miss.

Just watched the original for the first time ever, very strange film. I think i missed the point with it.

Maybe its one of those films you need watch more than once.

How would you know if you liked it if you watched it less than once?

Sarcasm font would help, but also people would lose the subtle ability to spot it.

Even when its fucking obvious

Saw it last night. A fitting sequel, well done. I liked it, but non-fans will probably hate it.

Never having seen the original I liked the concept and the story but it just seemed to drag on forever. Almost 3 hours I think?!

I liked the fact it wasn’t rushed. About time we had a long, slow burn, deep sci-fi.

So I see mixed reviews, what's the overall score from the freddys out of 10?

6/10ish. Worth a watch but nothing amazing. Same as the first.

I wouldn't pay £10 a person to see it but worth £5 on box office.

It's as good a film as you could wish for. Great pacing, atmosphere, acting, the best CGI you've ever seen. Technically a marvel.
9/10

Watched it last night. Visually it’s amazing (Denis Villeneuve likes his floaty pebbles doesn’t he?), and it’s well acted (Ryan Gosling is perfectly cast). My only problem was the plot, which was frankly a bit feeble,

9/10 great film and quite thought provoking. At dinner last night with friends and it was a topic of conversation for an hour. The film raises so many questions on humanity and society.

Ill stop myself from watching it on a phone and see it at the cinema.
I took 10 quick looks at a stream and each one it was dreary music and fog.
But Im going to give it a chance.

Saw it last night after a few at the pub. Really enjoyed it.

I think it's one of those films that improves depending on what you bring to the party - dya wanna watch action or do you want to consuder what's human, the effect of memory etc...

thought it was both lengthy and rushed tbh. begging for a director's cut really. ofc most of my time was spent projecting a fervent teed-joi-luv threesome wish into the ether.

This really and tbh I found the original boring, when I think of classic scifi from the era, films like Close Encounters are far more entertaining.

Close Encounters is still utterly epic 40 years on. Modern movies rely so much on CGI and green screens and some *20 something no experience never heard of her but she's got a cleavage to die for* FOTM actors, they've forgotten the basics of film making and storyline.

Like carpentry today. No one knows how to dovetail a joint. It's power tools, flat packs, do it on the cheap made in China crap. Can't get a good man under 65 now...

Ah well, at least there's still white dog poo. No wait...

I just saw it. I very much enjoyed how many questions were raised, how the plot didn't make me try to second guess what was happening. I just relaxed and went with it.

Also, it did a very good job of showing just what a complete shithole the world is in that universe.
