Oh and the 5th is apparently revealed at the end of tonight's ep!

Not really a spoiler given that I've not seen the episode yet, but following from sar's spoiler:

I think it'd be a massive anti-climax if it was Ellen Tigh given that she's relatively speaking a bit of a nobody.

Can't wait to see this tomorrow, one of the best shows around. Shame that when this finishes I don't think there are any Sci-Fi shows left on TV at the current time.

Sorry, couple of eps ahead of myself: the 5th's reveal is in 2 weeks in ep 13.

If you look at the Final supper image, the goblet & Tigh are my reasons for thinking who I think it is.

Well there has been some foreshadowing going on in recent eps...

Lost is still on, and it's SF.

Or rather:

It's going to be revealed as such this coming season!

Yeah but Lost just dragged on to long and has become a joke. BSG has maintained what makes it great.

I think Lost's problem is the lack of concrete answers so far, which will apparently change this season.

BSG is still superb though.

Lost was good in the beginning but lost its way (no pun intended). BSG is just quality and has been consistent from start to finish.

Grabbing it now :)

Great episode!

Ok, so we discovered that the 13th tribe was Cylon, but surely that means that the humans are just descendants of Cylons?

Secondly, what is Thrace?

Now I'm really confused.

Interesting episode but I have no idea what is going on. So why is Starbuck still alive yet also seems to have visited earth and died? If Ellen is the 5th then what does that make Starbuck?

How did they know the bodies were Cylon? They don't know who the 5th is but they can find out if someones been a Cylon when they're dead? WTF!

Kara Thrace is Starbucks real name :) But if you mean what is Starbuck if the 5th is Ellen well I have no idea.

Pedantic git :p

What is Thrace? What is Starbuck? are both the same :)

Anyway, you understood me, she must be some other type. Maybe an evolved hybrid?

My thinking is she's a clone. Created by the Beings of Light whose ship we saw at the end of Crossroads in the pull back from the RTF and Cylon fleets before it jumped to the image of Earth.

Either that or she's only NOW become a Cylon, again created by the BoL.

I'm convinced as well that the Head characters (Head Six, Head Baltar etc) are BoL appearing to different characters to spur them on and guide them towards their ultimate end.

I've just read an interview with Ron D Moore, and he states categorically that Ellen is the 5th Cylon, no doubts or misdirection, and that it was infact Ellen that Deanna was apologising to in the Temple vision of the 5.

Personally I reckon that this is what happened:

The Cylons of 2,000 years ago are the humans of Earth in our near-ish future. Specific individuals discover a technique that allows their conciousnesses & memories to be reborn (genetically imprinted?) into new bodies - rebirth not resurrection! These individuals are our now Final Five. They just perfected the technique when the nuclear holocaust that wiped out the Earthers began (which also coincided with the same happening in the Colonies btw! Chew on that one...).

The humans of the RTF are genetically different from what we understand as humans, hence why they discover all the bones to be "Cylon" (IE different).

They have the genetic make up of four of the final five, so it'd be a simple match up job with the DNA samples obtained from the bones.

surely then they'd be able to do that to anyone who is a member of the crew? But I guess they'd never find it as she's not on board anymore!

Well only now that they know who the final four are, do they have a yardstick to compare against. Before this it could've been anyone.

Are we sure it is Earth, I didn't see any images of Earth's moon. I think this is where the Organo cylons were first tried out before infiltrating the other colonies. The memories can then be explained.

An excellent episode. Such good writing, and:

I found Dee's death genuinely shocking, and as upsetting as it can be in a fictional drama. Plus, she was extremely fit. Fit women should never die.

Yeah that was a shocker. I was sat for a couple of minutes in a slack jawed "WTF?" sort of way tbh :)

Not ruling out she *could* get resurrected after all, Thrace is now an unknown resurrector - it's all going very Lost ish

Hmm,

maybe the planet is a natural resurrection thingamijiggy
