I'd say rather it could be the hop previous to it (i.e. leaving the previous server has issues) but yeah gblx are the people to talk to :)

Obligatory bad analogy:

If there's only 10 second delay to your train when you reach the stop before Bank underground station but there's a 20m delay by the time you reach Bank you've had a problem either leaving the previous station, travelling between or getting into Bank.

It's possible also that it's only on that line and if you were going into Bank via a different route (e.g. the northern line instead of the DLR) you'd be fine.

how do you explain the 5 timeouts i get where the opentransit checkpoints should be?

Those routers got icmp turned off that's all, so they don't respond to pings.

Routers set not to respond to pings directly to themselves, makes them less vulnerable to denial of service attacks, and reduces load.

Try contacting your ISP as well.

Global Crossing are a peer for your ISP. I'd guess the only problem is trying to find some support person who will actually take the issue and raise it.

problem here is that BBB that madi has kinda refuses to touch these things and simply put away the blame on global crossing totally. Ive had these problems a few times, first time it took about a month to get it fixed, next time 2 weeks and last time it was a major problem it took a week, I just spammed the gblx-techies with traces and pingspans from different backbones to show there was a real problem there. And I also argued like hell with BBB's support to get them to realise it was a problem for them aswell. When I asked them for a printed supportanswer to show for the company that own the building I live in, that own a shitload of buildings it suddenly started to happen things. Weird how these ISPs dont want things to come out in public isnt it? :)

I remember that first month, oww daoc was a joy then especially as I was playing a SB at the time.

Target comes running
You PA
nothing happens
nothing happens
20 sec later
Target to far away
1 fg albs not to far away
/release

And that was for a month... really amazed I didn't stop there and then.
This was 4 years ago or so, guess everyone with BBB remember the horror.

i would personally only choose between bbb/comhem/telia as 'adsl' suppliers, afaik the rest has really shitty support and are unreliable as fuck.

I dont get the impression that bbb is really reliable after reading this thread :p and after talking with their support.

- Ok I make a note about this and lets see what our engineers can do about it. I'll send you a SMS when its done. BYE
- Hmm so you got my phone number?
- No

And after a few more days i called him again and he told me to send a printuot of tracert to B2sup@bredband.net. I did and got this autoreply:

-Alla supportfrågor hänvisas till 0770-777 000
Mvh Bredbandsbolaget

And that was 3 days ago and still havent got any SMS, e-mail or phonecall from them so... can't really say that their support is uber. Can think of a zillion things that are more fun then spending 45 min in phone queue just to get answers like this.

this is hillarious, at 11-12cet i get 40-50ms ping to servers, now when primetime are starting slowly(17cet) the ping are raising towards 200ms, was just the same last night, ending on 300-500ms at 22-23cet..

nice fucking systems they must have that can handle the load!

If they rerouted they prolly overcharged the Frankfurt bit ^^
If they have to phisically change the fooked router through which u were routed before it'll take some more time.
If they put up a band aid instead u are defo fucked -.-
