I wasn't asking for drugs. I wasn't asking even for a blood test. I just wanted them to know it had potentially traveled to Canterbury, so that if someone got really sick down here they might be better placed to treat them.

Uni was quarantined for a bit over the summer iirc, i think a lot of the foreign students who stay up there over the holidays got it.

Ya several parts of uni halls here has swine flu problems, they sent an email round saying they were going to send anyone with a confirmed case home if they could..........seemed a bit stupid to me, that just spreads it further.

The problem with the government response was that much of it was damned lies

It was apparent that the disease was spreading in the community while the government was still maintaining only mexico visitors were at risk.

I think theres an element of lagging behind events but much of it looked more like a cynical distrust of telling people the truth.

Its hardly suprising since this is the general UK politicians mantra - look at the election - everyone knew massive cuts were coming but they glossed over it and argued about small change.
