It was a big thing in the comics and games. The other thing they had in the movie was Iron Man and Cap using his laser/shield combo as a reflector to blast more aliens.. I'm hoping Joss Whedon is as clever as I think he is at times - saving more of those tricks for Avengers 2 and not using up all the awesome in one go. I think (hope) we will see more of that

I also liked it when they have finished fighting a baddie and then they are resting and then the hulk just punches Thor across the room.
