That's a bit harsh - normal teenagers are an emotional bandwagon (especially girls) - it's going to be pretty tough to prevent a suicide attempt unless they actually tell you what they are up to which is unlikely.

It just sounds like a big attention seeking episode. They say suicide is usually a cry for help rather than really trying to die...maybe she had some serious issues all round? Something her parents should have picked up on, or she should have felt she could go to her parents with her problems.

Either way, I would call it bad parenting/teachers...rather than evil internets that must be controlled and censored.
