Sometimes i have these silly ideas :) what do you think.

Regarding Artifacts, dont you think GoA/Mythic/Game Designers should put in a Merchant to activate the artifacts when ever you want, in my opinion that would make gamers much more happier when playing.

Just a thought.

What do you guys think?
and is there anyway we can put this idea towards GOA/Mythic?

Yeah, because it's such an effort to go to a scholar in ToA and activate it. :rolleyes:

Was late when i typed this :) now reading it again i realised what i put :) hehe

Nope but it should only be able to drop ONCE for a character of a certain minimum level to prevent farming.

If nobody in the group needs it or can use it, NOTHING should drop from the mob.

This is what we talked about.

Nmy-excalibur and myself.

To complete an artifact you go through four instances.

For example.

Instance 1 = XXX 1/3
Instance 2 = XXX 2/3
Instance 3 = XXX 3/3
Instance 4 = XXX Arti.

XP for the artifact


To xp the artifact the player must help someone complete the artifact through the instances to recieve the scrolls/arti.

This way players are still working hard for the artis, but stops cm prices being crazy. And also saves the players who dont have time to camp an arti for 10 hours. the chance to get it.

Just an idea anyway, Flame away!

no they are not...

for example: your camping an artifact (Gem of lost memories) for 5+ hours and your happy with that?

Who camps artis, just buy them / do at 4 AM xD
I wouldn't say artis are hard at all really, I could do Tartaro's Gift, Malice's Axe, SoM all about 2-4 times in a day, and that's on a pvp server ffs :p

Nothings hard if you know the time to do it and know how to farm it.
But I do recall thats what fucked the game up it's arse and why so many people left sadly.

The release of ToA was no reason to leave the game :p If that's what you mean. I prefer DAoC with the ToA expansion, don't think many people would agree with me though :D

Well really any MMORPG is time consuming and you have to be able to play for X amount of hours to achieve something, if you can't 'dedicate' some time to achieve that then really you shouldn't be playing an MMORPG.

There's not been any MMORPG I have played (and I've played most of them) that hasn't been atleast one time that you _had_ to play for X amount of hours to get it finished.

Just be happy you don't play WoW, PvP grinding there is 100x worse than any concept of ToA.

i think mythic/goa have admitted that ToA was a mistake by releasing new NON toA servers :)

I would.

Would probably have left ages back without that huge amount of content added. Imagine DAOC with only Sidi raids, Dragon raids and RvR to do at 50. Talk about boring fast, especially as it's hard to get decent groups in RvR, and people only want to do 3fg Dragon raids !

Yah i agree with that, make artis one time drop for a person!

I camped CS from 12 noon till about 11PM yesterday with no pop. And SoM is a 24h repop so would love to see you do tht twice in one day

artis like epics etc SHOULDN'T be too easy to get, should involve some effort as they're generally very powerful. However I do find the current camping situation unfair and I've been on both ends of it :)

I reckon Mythic will address this problem though, if they have any staff working on DAOC of course and not a new game ..

No artifact has a set time that it will pop as far as i know, the only thing that is set is the MAXIMUM time in which it will take to pop. There is then a % chance of i popping at set intervals before that.

As an example, when i farmed Zahur actively. Average pop time 3 hours, maximum for me was 4 hours however it popped as fast as 20minutes a few times.

edit: As for epics.. if you refering to the quests, they actually way too easy now. Can duo most of them if not all quite easily if you know what you doing.

Like Corran said, that's just the maximum respawn timer (and well for SoM it's been said to take up to 36 hours) but it can spawn within 5 minutes otherwise :eek:

I always love it when people start making up facts.

Most artifacts have a timer, everytime that timer expires there's a %age chance that the artifact mob will spawn. There's no max timer for any artifact, cloudsong could in theory never pop if every time it checked the check to see it would spawn would fail. This is of course very unlikely but never assume that because a mob has failed to spawn in the last 36 hours that it's definately going to spawn in the next 5 (for example).

There's a few that don't necessarily follow this rule. Scalars (if you believe the invisible snakes theory) would be one example.

Think the main reason you can't have people only get an artifact once is because what would happen to those that are in a group or BG, pick up the arti therefore flagging themselves as having gotten it, but then only to hand away for lotto etc?

Tbh there should've just been instances with the artifacts inside them, from the beginning :(

I like the idea of droping once only per person.

How would that work though?

If you solo something fine.
If you in a group and some have had it before and some haven't? Do they get to roll? It would have to become no trade for them. Will it then be hard to find people to do artis raids as they'd need to be there just to help.
