Surprise, surprise! Good old Mr Wenger is acting like a child about the fact Arsenal haven't won the Premiership.

When you look at the whole season, taking in the FA Cup and the Champions League, we are certainly the best team.

Arsenal hugely underperformed in the FA Cup semi-final and would not have won if it wasn't for the referee and Seaman's masterful save. They were distinctly average in the Champions League as well, from what I recall. Man Utd reached the quarter finals and performed admirably against Real Madrid.

We lost three players in five minutes at Bolton, and then you have to add Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell to that. If you miss half the army it's very difficult.

Fair point tbh, it didn't help yesterday that they didn't have Campbell or Vieira but that's life. Man Utd suffered earlier in the season with injures and so have practically every team in every league at some point this season, it just happened to Arsenal while they were on a bad run of a form and Man Utd were on an excellent one.

Are United worthy? I don't know.

I'm sorry, but just look at their form lately and there's your answer. In the last eight games Man Utd have scored 26 (four of which against arguably the best team in the world) and conceded 12 whereas Arsenal have managed just 15 and conceded 10 in their last eight matches. Man Utd have turned round their season amazingly whilst Arsenal have stuttered and stumbled.

But finishing second is not a disaster, especially when you have only 50% of United's budget.

United spent £30m on a new player - and they will do that again. We cannot, but it does not mean we will lose the Championship next year.

Whinge whinge whinge... Money does not buy you success, but it does help a hell of a lot. Anyway, look at Fergie's three biggest signings of late. Veron vastly underperformed last season but had some good games whilst Keane was out injured. Only a squad rotation player as of late, nothing more. £30m for Rio who is overrated to fuck, just like Campbell is. Van Nistelrooy is undoubtedly the best signing Fergie's made of late. £19m on a striker is worth it when he scores over 70 goals in 100 games for the club (thus far).

This really angered me and although if I had to choose a 'second team' it'd be Man Utd, simply because I enjoy watching them and I think Giggs is utterly brilliant it just annoyed me that he's simply not able to accept defeat is he? Stupid man. Well done to Man Utd, nothing Arse can say will take the title away from them.

Full story here.

Couldn't be arsed reading the whole post. Typical self-justifying waffle from a manc supporter.

Just this tho:

Man Utd reached the quarter finals and performed admirably against Real Madrid.

Can we change that to "Man Utd reached the quarter finals and had their asses handed to them by Real Madrid"? :p

And Liverpool will finish above you next year, scum ;)

I feel nothing more than a vague London affection for Arsenal, however, to dismiss his stuff as whinging is a bit stupid, it's exactly the sort of thing any manager has to say to justify not winning stuff.

Your post is a bit stupid frankly.

If you had have bothered reading that you'd have seen I'm not a Man Utd fan. I'm a casual follower of them for reasons stated above.

If he wanted to justify it he could sum it up quite easily by saying "we were shit towards the end of the season, which was when it mattered". The rubbish he spouted above are no more than excuses that appear to have been scrapped together to form some sort of plausible excuse. I don't think he's congratulated Man Utd once either, which is a bit sad really.

Probably, but if Fergie had have said any of that I'd probably be making the same post.

Firstly, football is shit.

Secondly, do you expect the managers to say "yes we were shit"? It's a business, they have shareholders. Forget all about "sport" think business and PR.

I'll think you'll find that Liverpool Football Club can be abbreviated LFC, not LFC, PLC.

Shit enough so nearly half the population of the planet tunes into the World Cup every four years.

I could very well say Everquest or DAOC is shit. Even after playing them for a couple of hours. - but I'd be missing the point. It's something you get into not something you like or dislike after a short while.

Do you know how many albums the spice girls sold?

Lots.

Popularity is not an adequate judge of something's shitness tbh :|

The spice girls didn't sell 2,500,000,000 copies of their albums whilst at the same time having about a billion of them actually singing their own songs did they? :)

I used to be into footy, avid Liverpool fan and always played for the school footy team, I was into it.
That was then, football now is shit, I stand by my comment.

Comment <---> Me :)

I watched pissed Manc supporters in shithole pubs cheering Leeds on TV, this only strengthened my views. Its a game for "lads", I'm don't consider myself part of "lad" culture. It's also boring as hell, with overpaid whinging no brain pricks running up and down a field. Most of whom would be hard pressed to get a job in McD's if they couldn't kick a ball.

I'm as far detached from lad culture as a rock in a desert, yet I still love football. Personal preference really, but I don't really see why you and others felt the need to ruin the thread with your comments. This is an even further reason why a sports forum would be nice, so that those of us who actually like football can talk about in peace and we can to an extent peacefully coexist with fans of other sports. Personally I hate Rugby, but if somebody started a topic on it here I wouldn't butt in.

I find F1 pretty boring - how's that? Not keen on cricket either. As for the 'no brain pricks' and pay argument we've had it before and it's futile going into it again.

Yeah, lay off the braindeads, I still don't know which religion I should have my son christened in either.
