Hello

can't start my copy of Warhammer. I get no linking whatsoever to the log in server (can't even see it) and GOA site is down. Anyone else having problems?

That's a relief. In a kind of "OMG the Quest, the quest" kind of way. Thanks Zagantia.

ill bet well get an explanation 'right now' ...

something like "We've had a small error, and since it was an error and the EULA and CoC say in paragraph 2.1.2.1.2.4.6.5.2.1.1.2.5.1 it says we cannot give u a free day or refund"

if it's still broken try running this as administrtor from the command prompt: ipconfig /flushdns

It is still broken but there is a work around which means changing the DNS to :
1: 208.67.222.222
2: 208.67.220.220

If you don't know how to do this for vista you do the following:

1) Go to start -> control panel -> network and sharing center.

2) On the right hand side, go to manage network connections.

3) Right click on active Local Area Network connection -> properties.

4) From there, click on Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) -> and then hit the properties tab.

5) Click on the tab for "Use the following DNS server addresses" and type the DNS ip's beneath.

6) Click OK.

Probably a good idea to flush the DNS as well after:

start -> run -> cmd ->
Then type: ipconfig /flushdns

Works for me anyway.

that is fantastic and works for me. Do I need to change anything back when O2 sort the problem out?

You might be advised as that solution has permanently redirected your DNS lookup away from whatever servers your ISP intended. There may well be nothing wrong with those new DNS servers but you really might want to consider NOT redirecting your DNS lookup in this way as the potential for "Bad" things to happen is enormous.

In this case however Floodster has posted the IP adresses for a couple of OpenDNS.com servers which was rather a good idea but always wise to check who such servers belong to before changing to them. You could just leave them set as it is tbh.
