There will be nothing wrong with the amount of damage he can do, just that it will vary alot. It also means he can use the 50 Pole style which chains from Phlanax which has a 9s stun

Personally Im heading for:

46 Pole
45 Thrust
25 Parry
10 Shield
29 Xbow

Not 100% sure if those numbers go into the spec exactly, but thats the rough idea

Alot of people go for the hybrid slam tank:

44 Pole
39 Thrust/Slash/Crush
42 Shield
xx Parry

Slam and go

Or you can go a full Poletart:

50 Pole
50 Slash/Thrust/Crush
10 Shield(engage)
Spare points into Parry, any left over into Xbow

In the event you use Two Handed, just exchange Pole for 2H

rest parry

if you respec a skill you auto in do you get the full amount of SP you put in?

Wow that was confusing your page is on the top but about that style with 9 sec stun, you got a chain with "you target uses a style" with 9 sec stun and you only need 44 in PA to get that
and I wanna be able to take up a shield/1-handed and do good dmg with that has well , and it will work with 42shield/44PA/44slash then rest parry/xbow

or what?

Aye, you can get the Defender Rage/Defeners Revenge combo, but the Phlanax/AEGIS combo works better for PvE as it's easier to pull off, but you'll get a good damage cap increase with 50 pole

44, 42, 44 works fine

If thats how you like to play your character, go for it

yeah normally this would make 6 parry

however if your a real diehard and autotrain slash to 12 you will have 13 parry and 4 xbow

Won't work as slash and thrust autotrain for an Armsman anyway, but if you go crush to 40 then respec it will...

You do parry alot in RvR if you have actually spec in parry.

I have 58 parry and master parry 2 and believe me it works.

Before taking peoples advise ask them where they get there conclusions from.

That results been untrue, has been tested that difference from 38parry to 50 parry is insignificant (theres sum formula from mythic etc) and me, having 27+16parry and moparry1, use to parry more than friendly hero with 50 base parry + bonuses..

Anyway parry aint worth it imo. (slam is)

And you don't end up with any extra points as when you respec it uses the points you would have had to spend to get it to 10. If you do crush you end up with the extra points.

There is only ONE REAL armsman spec ...

You all know it should be:

50 slash
50 shield
rest in parry then spare bits in x-bow.

All other specs are big girly specs.

I mean, polearms are for pikemen, not the majestic Knights

BUT AM AUTOTRAINING TRUSTH, NOT SLASH.

try to figure it out..

not that hard to understand..

u wont get the autotrain extra points on slash, but u wil do on trusth, which is the objetive.

hmm this is the way im heading.. although i was thinking stopping shield and putting a few more into parry...

does anyone know if 50/50 SnS, rest parry as above is anygood ?

im lvl 46 now, i have 46 Shield, 46 Slash, and rest in Parry {about 15 i think ?}

If sword and board go 50/50 mate.

Then with crafted items, and RR, you will be +12 on both in no time.

Casters will love you, clerics will love you ... and after block block block block, other tanks will hate you.

Mercs are for damage mate, always remember that true tanks do not give damage, they take it for others.

Well everytime I Parry I must be imagining it and every time in RvR and PvE someone yells God Oz you Parry alot they must be strange voices im hearing in my head.

The Proof that Parry works is in a Armsman fully specced in Pole and Parry thats been playing over a year telling you it does not a sum formula.
