I hold my breath immediately after a hiccup.. a really deep breath and stay like that for as long as I can and by the time I finally breathe again they are completely gone... if this for any reason fails keep trying it and it will work.
The only thing that ever worked for me was to imagine a straight line (or use a straight line in a pattern in carpet/flooring etc.), then walk up and down it, keeping perfectly balanced on it, making sure that your heel touches your toe with each step. Go along about 5-10 metres, then come back.
It's probably just the concentration you use, but it works a treat.
I'm in the 'hold your breath' club, but it's not actually that simple, for me anyway.
Hold breath, *lock* the diaphragm, and keep like that for as long as you can BUT then do not just let it out, got to be gradual. If I just let the breath whoosh out again I find too often the involved muscles will take that as a cue to hiccup again.
