WoW Alliance vs Horde PvP server > daoc imo

Daoc is getting suckier all the time unfortunately.
Good opportunity to take a break, get relationship, go out more, study(oO) and then burn our lives again when WoW comes out :)

Okay sorry for asking but what does hyped mean? :eek6:

and those who will say im an noob : :kissit: :touch: :kissit:

hyped is the advertising bullshit u get, like films: The greatest action adventure ever seen , a cast of thousands. New mmorpg : The Fall of Rome, become a roman soldier or senator. Perhaps a barbarian is your style. Carve out your own piece from the Roman empire, interact with thousands of NPC and fellow online players. Trade, fight, make alliances. Trust no one, you will only survive by your own wit and guile.

Sounds good?

What u really get is:
A text based adventure or at most crap gfx and/or UI. inability to locate anyone, poor gameplay/design.

Dark and Light looks pretty good, they've been releasing small videos of things they've been testing, some of the features are interesting, some are from where the dev team have read through people's posts on their forum.

Not to sure about content at the mo.

Think it's not out for a while though.

Blimey - those screenshots look pretty good - some good ideas on transportation / use of horses there too..

www.guildwars.com seams pritty nice
i especially like these parts:

"Will there be a monthly fee for Guild Wars?
No, there will not be a monthly subscription fee of any kind, anywhere in the world." / You only pay once, and thats for the game.

And that you dont have to play 24/7 to be good, becouse u can only obtain 9 skills i think and if you want another skill you goto drop one. So once u got the 9 skills you want , no more levling and just PvPing ... i think :p hehe read something like that on one of their forums.

GW monthly free yes.

but they said they will release addon every 6-9 months, so basicly it aint free, just another way to collect cash , and what u think when u dont need CC how many kids there will be? and it looked little like fantasy CS , 4 vs 4 , 8 vs 8 etc. and u need group to make quests if u wanna get more lvl's and if u dont get groups or those groups suck what u been wauiting like 2 days and mission is over in 5 mins..hmmmmmm..

not saying it won't suck, but GW is supposed to have solo and smaller quests/missions. And I don't see why on earth you would need 2 days to get a group of 4 or 8 people together.

The very early trials during E3 were fun but buggy and gave me headaches after about 1 hour to the point where I had to stop playing. Not sure if it was the jerky movement or what.

I'm still playing L2 after several months. It's starting to feel alot more fun mostly because things are settling down more. Alliances/Wars etc. My clan still have not declared war on anyone, but I live in hope ^^

BTW Mythic's new mmporg sounds interesting but it's years away.

I should imagine someone has created a mmorpg based around the Roman Empire(maybe just a mpg) or is in the process of doing it. What I actually said was a parody of Eve-Online. Yes I know the gfx in eve are visually stunning before someone jumps on me.

Problems with mmorpg:-
People who have a lot of time to play often gain a considerable advantage over those that dont. Take daoc release, Nolby Pride charged well ahead in level than most other people. Im sure thay made Alb/Hib frontiers hell.(This is not a critisicm of Nolby btw). A similar thing happened in EVE, a corp/guild did the same thing. They were first to fly around in cruisers/battleships because they had the resources. They then caused hell, by finding a good spot and killing anything that moved for several days. In the end the game gms had to intervene and sent in a fleet of police ships to chase them out. As they caused problems for the server community.

Consistent worlds create problems(aka alarm clock raids), aggravated by time zone differences. Theres no point in you building structures, defensive postions, claiming terrority, if three hours after you goto bed some Americans just flatten it

In L2 you have to schedule castle raids several days in advance. It's all very civilised ^^

thats why the loss shouldnt be that bad, as it is in daoc(relics are annoying, but you could alarmclockraid them back). Or it should take a few days before anything is permanent is done, as I guess it is in L2 and if DE pulls it off it will be there aswell.

And about people spending more time, that isnt so bad usually. Sure you cant win at that moment. However people still seemed to find the start RvR fun and NP or similar groups will usually not come in that big numbers so you could try and outzerg them.
Thing is the possible loss shouldnt be to big, you might loose your city, but that should only mean as example that you have lost a way of earning credits and a way to influence to land around that city. It shouldnt mean that you have no way to ever get to a high level without severe grievance(example camlann isnt properly designed for this, it is possible to keep some person from lvling) and it shouldnt mean you have no way to make a reasonable amount of cash. Atleast thats in my opinion.

Personally im interested to see more of Dragon Empires, that looks ace :D

Agree, trying to get in the beta, guess that will never happen but one can always hope. Followed the game from the start and I must say it could be the ONE game but could also not be ;)

Middle Earth Online looks pretty amazing too but you have to be able to play the dark side.

Go play VtmR so you can go suck on things lol

Anyways what happened to that game coming out called Dragon Empires, wasn't that supposed to be good?

This is always the best way to get rid of all the attention you would otherwise have. Once the truth come out that you are female, it seems to attracted a lot of unwanted psychos.
Or then, maybe that's just me. :eek6:

How is L2? I was wanting to play, but was advised against it. Do you find yourself getting board now that you have been playing awhile?

As for Dragonempires it is still in production.
