I just spent half an hour on a map I don't remember the name of, trying to get a lift from one side of the map to the other - so I could drop a well-hidden i-station, and spam the nme gens to death.
The pilots managed to:
1) Run into hills
2) Run into the ground (many, MANY times when not under pressure)
3) Sit on the pad waiting for other players, under fire, until the vehicle was destroyed.
4) Hover over NME missile emplacements.
5) Crash into other NME vehicles
6) Go so slowly that other passengers jumped out through boredom.
7) Bomb their own base/emplacements before bombing so low they destroyed themselves.
8) Drop a boatload of heavies off in the middle of all the NME turrets, miles from any objective.....
i.e. just about f*cking everything APART from the simple task of dropping someone off behind the NME base, or in a sensible place.
I've been talking to a few people who are going back to T1 because the vehicles have, basically, killed any proper teamplay on T2.
This wouldn't happen so much if pilots THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING!
Don't drop everyone off in a stupid place, miles from their objective.
Don't fly so low that any missile hit will guarentee that you smack the ground and explode.
Don't sit on the vehicle pad, waiting for other passengers, when being fired on by a shrike/other nme. Just GO. Come back LATER.
MOVE or TURN when flying toward a hill!
It's really simple stuff people! And it might even *gasp* promote TEAM-PLAY! (remember that from T1?)
Rant over. Grrrrrrrr.
