Hmm.

HMM.

tris-.

Posting a thread...that i actually like?! :eek7:

AC/DC is ofcourse one that you know. But how about, Spiderbait? Did a lovely black betty cover if i recall.

Clawfinger is also rather nice. Billy Idol could, by some songs, be described as rock, but i guess punkrock would be the "niche" people like to put people in *sigh*

Sammy Hagar is old school, as is Don Felder.

Will post some more when i get my head around it.

Oh and i think a fitting definition to what you want is: "Flanel shirts and dirty jeans, and when we say 'screw the world', we mean to hump as much of it as we can."

I dunno, maybe a bit of Dio, some Iced Earth, all the other usual suspects seem to have been named. Suppose some Judas Priest too.

I'm also really getting back into Creed and Black Crowes at the moment, so i gotta mention them :)

Your post is blasphamy, you need your ears testing.

Motorhead are one of the greatest rock n roll bands ever. Lemmy is a living legend.

If you want to some rock then try AC/DC, David Lee Roth era Van Halen or Kiss.

Or you could try the greatest metal band ever to walk the planet - Iron Maiden. 30 years old, still making great records and still selling out stadiums around the world and the band most new (and old) metal bands look up to and cite as a major influence.

Other metals bands try Judas Priest, or newer bands like Trivium or Avenged Sevenfold.

Or this, which is the greatest cover of a song ever :D

I saw them live at shepards bush, the first 10 min guitar solo.. fine they all do it
The 5th 10 min guitar solo, we left
Plus there is only so long you can extend the ace of spades before it gets fu**ing annoying
fortunately the opening bands were awesome so it wasn't a total loss
