Anti-virus/firewall

Howdy folks,

Can you give me some suggestions on what I should be using as anti-virus etc?
I'm usually fairly sensible and seem to get by, but I thought I ought to sort myself out properly.

I'm currently running windows defender, windows firewall and Microsoft security essentials.

I'm finding that since installing MSE I'm getting a lot of system slow-down and freezes.

I was thinking of getting kapersky or going back to AVG free but just wondered if anybody had any solid recommendations?

Stick with what you've got, MSSE won't be causing the slowdowns/freezes, it'll be something ouse. Kaspersky/AVG will just make thing slower.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSSE and they seem to clear up when it goes, and return when i reinstall!

Defender shouldn't run if you've got MSSE installed. That's probably the root of the problem. Defender runs alongside other AV products, MSSE supersedes Defender.

Just checked - you care correct, defender has been turned off.
Still getting odd bits where whole computer locks up, nothing works and then just leaving it for 10 mins it starts working again.

I uninstalled MSE and installed kapersky, no lock ups and pc running far faster.

My boss reckons Comodo Anti-Virus and Firewalls (CIS) are pretty good...
