I can understand why it'd be shitty having players using crafting macro's that last for 8 hours and stuff, but i see now harm in using them if you use them sensibly...

as said - it's bloody hard to prove a macro prog's being used, apart from watching the timing of the actions being performed for an hour or three...

I used to like the idea of the random dev wandering to forges and trying to strike up conversations with crafters to see if they were actually AFK or not heh!

Do you have to use a programme,script or hardware to use it? No, and its put in the same by mythic, thats why its legal.

I have so many issues with the changing of sweet names, but more than any Opalfruits being changed to StarBurst.

Sanya posted about this a while back. it would be JUST like the "wall of shame" on a web page. EVERY player that had the same (or very close to) would be accused of being a cheater, no matter if he dont play on that server at all. yes theres ppl that IS that stupid. and it only take one to ruin someones rep for something he doesent have anything to do with.

would YOU like to have the same name as a flagged cheater and get publically hanged out by the community? while probably loose a few mates in the proccess?

But a macro, by definition, is a repetative task which is preprogrammed. Now, unless you're incredibly patient, any program set to watch for a pattern will pick that up in no time. Compare the actions taken by the toon, check the timing of them actions - if they sync up for any length of time, and form any kind of pattern, then it'd be spotted no matter how advanced the actual key-programmer is, surely?

I liked that video of the mini in Mid baiting a troll radar user and his two friends - he was runnin away, hiding behind a tree and uncloaking, then as the troll came tearing towards the tree, he cloaked and wandered off leaving the troll to the empty tree. The mini rinsed and repeated this a few times - it was so blatant it was embarrasing :lol:
