Ne1 else noticed this?

was experitmenting with necros and BW and they seem to work well, awsome PVE and they would be pretty good in RvR too.

The animist however seems a tad on the shite side... Could see how they would be awsome in keep raids, but thats about it... and they are pretty bad in PVE, sure you can solo a red if you set your turrets right but it will blow 95% of mana... They arnt a good pve class as far as I can see. and they dont fit well into normal grp farming. I am full verdent and its very bugged, but generally weak..

was pretty disapointed, im not gonna take my one any higher now.

apparently every single spell in Verdant is somehow broken :\
Try Aboreal or Creeping. You might like it better :)

definatly a fun class :)

got me a furby one and he is a ard bastad

and orange at level 7 ... ive never really done that with another char ... but then i used to be a noob so :)

orange at level 5 with dropped armour (as in tattered) and the level 5 trainer scythe :) thats teh uber imo, still had half health

You are probably talking solo , have you seen these guys go in a group , 3 or 4 animists in a group is very funny , and can wipe out area's of mobs , we have had a lot of people actually beg to get in our groups after they have watched for a while :) but like you say , soloing must be different .

Just read that , your kidding right ? must be verdant , because like I say they wipe out herds in a mob , continuous pulling , each animist resting for mana . We never had mana regen or would have been quicker .

A bunch of animists pulling is quite quick and all that, however there was a disturbing lack of attacking purple con mobs from the turrets...

Speccing arb/creeping atm, and can chain yellows oranges solo. Just got back from Muire where we were pulling red/purple worms with 4 animists in the grp, and had uber xp. Cotrolled turrets do attack purps if you tell em, and using the wisp DD first means turrets & nukes do more dmg.
For soloing, the creeping controlled turret rocks.
& Ive had better success with mana usage by casting more lvl 5 FnF dd's instead of a few lvl 9s.

Just my 2p, Animists rock :)

Cant wait to plant mushy fields all over BG1...

done grps of 4 animists too. You can pull lots of things and the XP does roll in... however the FNF turrets zap a lot of the XP and even though you think you are getting good XP, most of the time you actually arnt.... trust me they are a pretty weak class... you arnt really going to be able to use the turrets in main stream RVR they just take to long to summon, and the rest of the spells are duff

Weird class is all i can say, i tried it, and couldnt get the hang of it at all.........have grouped with them, and the pull rate/xp income has been really good. Also a lot of fun, as its a very different way of playing a group.

Valewalkers are nothing really earth-shatteringly new, gr8 solo class, but i'd much rather have a nightshade as a tank in a group.

Thats only because Fael is one of the nice guys from a very nice guild :p

Anyway - to stay on topic i think animists rock if they are played right. Sure they are very different from any other class but if you get used to them they can rock!

Is there a way of stopping ami pets attacking other groups pulls? Damn frustrating to have your xp leeched by a field of mushrooms :(

Those debuff/dd bombers are supposed to debuff body.
However one of the main gripes on the Whineboards is the fact that they don't debuff body in PvE but energy. They do debuff body in RvR.

I'm leveling a NS atm (currently lvl 23), and I must say that they kick ass. They are far better than what I expected. Just get you're self the right spec and good SCed stuff. I solo oranges with no probs at all. Even high orange walking rocks witch I do neg damage on. And with a few evades I really don't get hurt at all allmost :D

....And I'm one-shotting all mages in BG with SCed guarder rapier. Can't wait until get dodger....so to those that say asassins are crap...stfu and try one...if you still think they crap u suck :p

btw, killed an SB with DDs in BG (not the insta one), did 50 damage lol T_T

Friars are a good support class tho, VW's are essentially tanks.

Animist have to be some kind of a JOKE! now I hear you all say why that, well here are my reasons.

1/ Pet is Rooted to the ground it can't move once its cast.
2/ Other (so called) Pets you can cast are also rooted to the ground and will attack ANYTHING! in there range of fire, this is very BAD!
3/ Most of your pet Spells need for you to target the GROUND! oh yes this works! NOT!
4/ The elements you cast take 3sec to cast and explode on contact with Mobs.
5/ The heal spell is an element which also takes 3sec to cast and does about 2-5hp well sad..


I could go on about this but I will swear someone was either DRUNK or on cloud 9 when they thought up Animists, this is the worst class in all my RPG games I have ever had the misfortune to play.

I'm not sure you can make a fair judgement on the animist after playing it for such a short time.

I took mine to BG yesterday and cleaned up. Just takes some patience and good planning.

yeah i would have to agree that we cant really comment on the classes overall effectiveness until we have a few lv 50s kicking about

i got lvl 24 animist yeah it does suck ass mana wise im full Arboreal which is basicly Aoe kamikazi pets which is the best path to spec.

Also just started a necro had the buffer with him and the pet just ruled soloing 2 oranges at once

lets face it hib got the short end of the stick when it comes to the new classes
casters: BD and necro are awesome animist is well extremely hard to figure out has a stationary pet which is frankly useless in mainstream RvR has turrets which agro everything in sight even if neutral faction

tanks: savage is awesome all u have to do is read about em on the american forums reaver is not anything particulary special but it holds its own and vale walker a tank wearing cloth :/ has nothing of particular value

in place of a animist make a chanter much better class more powerful and better in rvr ( except in any sort of keep/relic raid)

in place of a VW make a champ can wear scale and has debuffs and take more of a pasting

im sure some ppl dont agree with my assessment and i might change my mind about how i feel about these new classes but for the time being i see hibs new classes totally out classed by there mid and alb counter parts.

try to send a kamikazi through the gates in a keep...i havent tried it yet but if it works then animist is very nice class...

Exept that what u can do with animist is to make some traps with ur pets and w8 for albs...dunno how u do that.. but there is plenty of time to experiment... have any1 tried this?....

General....if we can say in US they have better xperience on topic i can say.. they dont....u need more time to test all the possible possibilities and combination that how a class works...

So....dont judge so fast... ;)

Bah you still got the million wannabee enchanters that kill every single class inside a keep anyway...no need to feel sorry for you hibies


If they ever do an effort to fix the enchanter pets..i might feel different...untill then...live with it :p (doors at a keep or milegate are there for a reason...not to just walk passed them..and nuke everyone down)

Necro: nice pve...but rvr they shouldn't be too hard to kill...
Bonedancer: seem best new class all around...lets start the nerf threads...and they should be balanced sooner or later
Reaver: extra tankclass..nothing uber about him
Animists: have no idea what they will do for your realm (guess keepdefence...but hibs already own that department)
Savage: extra light tank...kinda like an alb merc..but more dmg but less armor
Valewalker: should be like a Savage & Merc/Reaver...already balanced

that's my current opinion...might change it when i get owned over and over by one of the new classes :p
