Indeed. My mate knows a lass who has just come back from Iraq and the way things are going she will be back out there. She is complaining apparently as she dont like it due to tha danger.

Well IMO WTF has she signed upto the forces then?

Do a Google search for "+photo +mosaic" and you'll turn up plenty of software for creating these types of image, both standalone and photoshop filters. Here's a free one: http://andreaplanet.com/andreamosaic/

Here's a quick Blair one I knocked up using the above prog. It's made up from around 62 images, both British servicemen who've died in Operation Telic (Iraq) and journalists of all nationalities. The way things are going, there will be a lot more 'tiles' for the mosaic to work with.

For some reason, the program I tried like to rotate a lot of the images. I'll need to hunt around for one that leaves most of the vertical.

There have been a lot of US servicemen killed, but not the 1320 used to make that image, they are repeated a lot. Pretty pointless point to make, but it'll be even more poignant in a few weeks when they can use a different face for each tile.

Tiles being repeated is a must for this type of software... unless you have a HUGE range of individual tiles for the software to pic from.
