I just spilt a pint of beer on the desk!!! :twak: ! It made it to the puter, the plug, the monitor, but nothing started blowing up.. I faced the danger and turned off the plug at the wall with my trusty USB Headset!

Once the danger was out of the way I became sick with rage!! Tearing the computer parts off the desk on to the floor, then I began drying the desk with a towel, a noise could be heard from under the desk..a sizzling sound...I removed a few drawers to reveal another plug on the wall :eek6: it had some black stuff coming out of it so I decided to go out to the garage and switch off the power to the house.

I returned with a screwdriver handy and screwed like I'd never screwed before, removing the plug from the wall revealing a lot more of the blackstuff I'd seen on the front of the plug! Removed the wires and taped them up, have left it like that for now.

So, any ideas of how I can avert this dangerous episode from repeating itself again?

PS Where should I go for a new wall plug panel? B&Q?

1) B&Q do indeed sell plug panels. Most stores like that too.
2) Good call on turning the power off... We've all seen what happens if you put your penis in a plug socket.
3) Glad you're all right ^^
4) Teaches you not to drink at your PC desk! :D

2months ago, a semi truck came into my field on the road, smashed me up the tunnel wall in 70KM/H.
first thing I saw was the high beams on a fully loaded semi truck... last thing I thought there was, OK, Now I'am dead...

almost ran straight over the front of my car, I did not get a scratch
but my car were total wreckage, I were lucky.

Yeah you should really get a clairvoyant out to check it. One of my friends ones almost thought there were dead people in his house and the clairvoyant came and said he was right! NOW HOW SCARY IS THAT?

dont drink next to your computer?

better advice would be "drink at your computer but dont be so mongy as to knock it all over the place".

im sure millions of people drink at their computer everyday without nearly setting the house on fire.

Almost...-near- death.

Is that even in the same area code as death? :eek7:

You're lucky if the death even speaks the same language there.

You guys with the poltergeist theory, less supernatural for you :D

Though thought the same thing...call sammy.

Don't waste beer like that !! :D

I cried a tear when I realised it was too dangerous to retrieve :(

Fixed it now :D Was bloody fiddly sorting out the wires though! I also got a beanbag for a foot rest, and thought about safety precautions..heres the list I've made so far:

1. Make some sort of divider between beer resting place and plug.
2. Don't drink at the computer.
3. Put beer in some other place.
4. Drink beer from a container for babies.
5. Get a beer hat.

Yeah, if you can, avoid climbing out of stuck elevators that are halfway on the floor, slipping on a tiny puddle of water on a tilefloor while taking a piss, driving behind a truckload of timber held by two chains or walking under plates of glass lifted up with a crane with no workmen around :D

you may very well jest my friend but after smashing most of the glasses in our megre collection I went to asda and brought myself a plastic beatrix potter glass (with jemima puddle duck, peter rabbit, flopsy mopsy and cotton tale and ofc benjimin buny) it came with a detatchable lid and flexi straw!

it may look a bit daft but im a clumsy sod and cant afford new glasses ever five minutes lol
