I get the impression that if they are without TV for a microsecond they would kick Bush out of the White Hoyuse so fast he wouldn't know what hit him!

Plus WTF would they do without there big V8 car that they drive at the speed limit??

americans *shudders through my spine* ffs i thought Al Gore would be bad, buy Bush is a fucking maniac. I dont remember reading anything about his presidential policies including;
1) Trying to restart a war with Iraq so he can have one under his name.
2) Bringing the world closer to nuclear war at any time as it has since The cold War era.
3) Trying to destryoy what remains of The Soviet Union (oka Russia) by increasing global warming so that cyberia will melt and flood Russia.
4) Being a maniac with no care for the US the world or anything other than how some red-neck gun-toting hicks and billionaire corporations think of him.

Fucking americans, if Florida had just got it right, I mean it must be a state of dyslexics (no offense all you "l33t" speakers) if the cant cross a fucking box next to a name; "oh it was confusing oh i couldn't figure out if i was meant to cross the box next to Al Gore's name or the box above it with some other blokes name oh"
Then we would all be living in a nice washed down quite world, where Gore's washed down, peaceful policies didn't make a big splash and everyone was happy.

BTW I actually do not support one-man either way, but a blind person can SEE with their EYES what is going on.

It really comes down to one fact, america currently produces 25% of all greenhouse gases but behind each 1% is a few million people driving and a few thousand businesses. America is unwilling to take the difficult steps required.

Can't say its a surprise tbh. Bush's policy on the environment (or rather lack of it) was clear before he came to power. So whether its National Trust land in the states, or the world climate as a whole, he is still in the pocket of US industry, oil in particular. Expect to see more of this in the future.

And if u think this is funny, u should have seen the gun control debate that flared up on the Totalwar.org message boards a few weeks ago.

Get this, and I am deadly serious:

One of the main reasons for yanks wanting an arsenal of weapons in their houses is because of a) a part of the constitution that states Americans should have the right to bear arms in case of attack (bearing in mind this part dates from late 1700's), b) to protect themselves from the government.

So to address part (A) I asked "So who is likely to attack you?"

The stern replies came back in the form of "The UN", "Russia", "Islamic Terrorists" and "A Russian instigated attack from South America".

Make of this what u will.

why do people think Russia are going to attack anyone? :/

as for guns in america, there's probably alot of stuff in the constitution people don't give a fuck about, and they won't follow it religiously - the only reason the government won't get rid of it is because, like our royal family, it's part of their heritage. mr blair, or whoever is next in power (hague!) wouldn't deny england of a royal family, purely because it is part of the country's heritage, and it'd cause more trouble then it's worth.

anyway, america is shit.

True, they also shut up when I pointed out that any South American army demented enough to invade the US and get past the US Navy, the US Air Force and the US Army beach defences, backed up of course by the US National Guard, would be pretty much bullet proof anyway, and thusly I did'nt fancy the chances of any pistol / rifle toting civilians that got in their way.

I laughed anyway.

This is the part that gets me:

"The scientists are saying this is a complex issue with a lot of difficulty with the things we do and don't understand," he said. "To throw a couple of things into a computer model, which at best only does what it is told to do, and come up with a worst-case scenario and say 'this is going to happen' - that's bordering on dishonest."

because it sounds exactly like the tobacco industry when they were first accused of making a cancerous product. "The scientists say there's no proof." Sure, trust the scientists.
