lol at this server situation, tried to log in and servers are so full it just puts up a dialogue box stating you "cannot login at this time all servers are full."

Plain stupid, I'm certainly not going to pay a monthly fee to not play at peak hours. When usually due to work It's the only time I can play.

Anyone else have views on this?

Presumably they'll roll out more servers now the retail folks are added?

It sucks but i'm lucky i finish at 2pm before the rush starts and can log in until around 10pmish when i log off again.

Hopefully they will sort it ;/

Whats retarded is when they release a new server, people wont want to move due to having to start again. You can do transfers but people will rather think "Let the other people move so we can stay on the populated server".

Yeah it is a real pain in the arse tbh. I rolled on the most popular server (Spat/Asmo) and now I'm level 20 i really don't want to re roll.

Saying that.. i've just joined the queue and it wants 42 minutes... not too bad really.

What's annoying me more is random disconnects from the server and the server lag. ( I'm pretty sure all the US and EU server farms are on the US east coast...... )
Only really started happening today, hopefully will only be this weekend.

They've said there's going to be at least one new eu server launching at the weekend. From what I've heard about the queues though, I think they'll need more, unless the introduction of a timer for stalls makes a difference. I guess only time will tell on that, but I'm pretty sure they'll do something, and tbh, I'd prefer not enough servers and bump the number up to optimal over too many with empty zones and nobody to group with or pvp against.

had to reroll from spatalos to telemachus as spatalos had a 4 hour queue from like 3 in the afternoon, no probs with telemachus so far (other than the fact of lvling 3 templars in 2 weeks and being so bored i rolled a ranger instead) longest queue's been 45 mins

Are you emo or Elyo on Telemachus Latency? We honestly havn't had queues on Tele before tonight, and even then like 30 mins max for me.

The largest queue I have had so far on Castor is 20 minutes, when at the same time I've looked on spatalos and seen it over 3 hours.
I'm thinking about rolling on telemachus for my Elyos alts.

New server launched yesterday - its German tho :p

It is a bit strange not rolling out more servers - in contrast to what others have said I think you only have a ghost-town if the game fails - not based on making people queue.

As it is they must be putting off a lot of people - who pays to queue?

Heh - I'm about a thousand away on Castor - I guess they are going for the 'wait till people quit' method of server population control.

Every English EU server was full earlier - probably still are.

only on one server, that anyone with half a brain was avoiding anyway

dont see the prob

we had a whole 1h40 on launch day, never seen it much higher than that

why roll on a server you know is already zulud ? and then complain about it?!

Todays the first day I experience proper queueing (I live UTC +4 so Im usually on a good while before prime time) and I can understand the frustration.. Hopefully with the new server its going to improve.

It is a bit strange not rolling out more servers - in contrast to what others have said I think you only have a ghost-town if the game fails - not based on making people queue.

As it is they must be putting off a lot of people - who pays to queue?

I think a lot of mmo gamers stay away from a new games launch these days and wait to see how it pans out over the first month-or-so before taking the plunge to buy it. So many recent games have been utter flops at launch, you just get burned too many times.

People hearing that they will have to queue if they buy the game isn't much of an incentive to shell out the money.

I take the point that WAR did it completely the wrong way, mirroring servers was a gamble and when the game flopped spectacularly, they were left with server merge after server merge.

As has already been mentioned, if the game is good, players will stay and more will come. WoW and EvE achieved it, so it can be done.

Rolling out more servers is essential, if people cannot play, they leave and if prospective customers won't be able to play either, they will stay away. The "people will leave after the first month anyway" gambit is just unprofessional and naieve. They have a market stake, if they erode their own playerbase by neglecting the simple things like allowing them the ability to play the game, they have only themselves to blame if the game fails to achieve it's full potential.

The odd thing imo is that they must have known exactly the number of copies of the game that had been sold, they knew how many accounts they had to accommodate and it seems like they haven't figured out the very simple math.

Still, early days.

Not with tons of digital downloads - that does make it a little harder to figure.

I think they need another 2 english speaking servers to appear early next week or they really will hurt their business.

This games only just hit retail so should be a big influx over the next few weeks and if peoples first experience is a 2000 person queue they wont hang around long?

Edit - lol - its 9:30 and theres still 1600 queueing on Castor - not the busiest server :p

I was one of the first ingame on my server :) and for the record I have no problem with queues nor have I said I did. There was a 9 hour queue which I didn't once say I was apart of, I login long before queues start up and have alot of patience for a good server.

As said to the others its teething problems, all games have them not a single game on the planet can claim a perfect launch without issues (in this case queues on every server after the 25th) prior to the 25th most english servers bar Telemachus/Castor had queues starting at around 1pm (the worse of which being Spatalos being 9hours prior to the 25th - times on Spatalos now are down to 2 hours which is an exceptional improvement - and getting better daily)

:p queues are getting better thats all i'm saying well worth the wait.

I think you mean turnover on the queues has improved but obviously the number of hours a server is maxed out has actually gotten worse with the influx from retail launch.

I dont think its too serious yet but they better whip out some new english euro servers over the next few days...
