You know us Scousers. Normal rules of time and physics don't apply - otherwise how do we remove hub-caps at 50mph??? :)

alienware ?

Must be some fancy PC kit with bells and whistles you would never use.

A bit like people who put neon lights under their cars and have carpet on the dashboard...

Alienware costs too much. Why not buy the parts and build your own for half the price? :p

1) It's not half the price.

2) I don't mind paying a little over the odds to have all that done for me, from one source and delivered at the same time in the same shipment.

3) If anything f*cks up for 3 years all I have to do is ring 'em up and get 'em to send me new bits. - No wondering if I have to go through Dabs, Scan, whateveronlineretailerIpurchasedfrom.com :)

Yes - they're expensive. They're good too IMHO... :)

Hideously overpriced desktops, and rebranded marked up laptops.

Still if you fancy paying extra for some guy to spraypaint your case, go for it.

More than a tad over priced IMHO. You can buy all the parts for your self and save some cash in comparison. Bear in mind that they are buying all their parts at very low trade prices also. So what is the best part of £200.00 on a graphics card to you is propbably closer to £140.00 to them. You are paying a lot for the superficials of it all. But whatever floats your boat my freinds

Way overpriced.
I aint interested in building from parts cos, like mentioned by someone earlier, I am happy to pay a bit more and know that if any bit goes wrong it is under warranty withought having to get into an argument about which bit is faulty or not. However, you can get similar spec kit from other suppliers for significantly less money.

They may well be good machines, but they are expensive.

I also bought a full system 5 years ago.
About 2 years ago I replaced the GFX and CPU, and added RAM and a 2nd HDD - which extended it's life nicely. I do think it important that a system has upgrade potential, which is why I buy good stuff rather than cheap stuff. Apart from that it is the exact same system, even down to the install of Win98 (I aint even needed to reformat).
It is now showing it's age, so I am looking for a replacement. After such an easy life with the last 2 full systems I am more than happy to just do it again :)

Heh, about a month ago i thought "Lets see whats the biggest price i can churn outta this ordering service".
So i got to work, setting all the equipment to max price, dual 21" LCD monitors, the lot, and 99 of each of them.

I think the final price came out at something like £1.6 million.

Couldn't help but chuckle to myself. :)

pfft I can spell boobies on mine :)

and on-topic i think alienware is a waste of money when you can get exactly the same kit for a much lower price and put it together equally as well (and their colour choices leave something to be desired)

I bought a full system in November 2001. It had a buggered gfx card (which I got replaced in a day by the supplier) but, apart from that, has served me well until now with only a minor blip earlier this year with a virus. I'd definitely buy another system and probably will later this year, assuming my new job goes okay :).
