Sure a troll 35qui 50 weap backstyle using on cloth will do a lot of damage after 5secs because first hit is bted, but Damon just pointed out that mincers have more options then skalds.
And I believe most people feel that way. But it has been said before, perfect balance wont happen.

I think you both mis-understood stood what i ment , I did not mean skalds hit for 800 , I also did not mean minstrels hit for 800. I simply ment that most people whine about the all support skills of minstrels and forget we are on the lowest dmg table with basic slash attacks. Nerfing these support abilitys would gimp the class unless it was given a melee boost.

All nerf callers (Like Mr.Randomjoe #1233 who started this post) see (or want to see) is what I like to call the "paper" facts. Omg ae mez...lol who actully uses ae mez, the resist rate is horrible and duration short, mez is ok from the flute but I get a lot of resist issues with it! Also if the class has any form of det mez and stun are pretty much usless (my "uber" insta stun lasts for 1 second on a det3 savage .

As for pet minstrels..Great we "can" charm red mobs any mincer whos tried to hold a red mob will know its far from practical with so many resists, low orange cons are best for petting but you sacrifice ablative, speed (if pet resists twice you drop out of mach 5 and are put into combat mode) and stealth, all of these skills are vital to the class, and you dont gain enough from the pet to warrant using one. I dont remember the last time I have seen a true pet minstrel, as even the likes of steveirwin dont use pets any more!

I am not saying the minstrel class is not a powerful one, but it differs (imo) from most of the FOTM because it has to be played well to unlock its full potential, and compared with the likes of bone dancers and savages we are a pussycats .

I dont understand why ppl think mercs are overpowered......is it because in a full group they are the ones that kill you? Or is it because mercs like fadeh, dreami and sycho tear you appart on a regular basis?

Im fairly sure i would rather have the vendo ability to take down that 1st healer than to have to move away from the main assist and wack a few tanks once or twice so that they get DT for 10 seconds so one of my cleric buddies can survive for a few seconds longer (while the healer i could have spent my time hitting dosnt die at all).

If you get killed by high realm rank mercs regularly....its likely because they are high realm rank so do more dmg/sec than 95% of mercs.

Or maybe its because we are good 1:1 with dirty tricks up...but still far from unbeatable.

nope no crack here mate, my proposal was just as silly as yours removing unique speccbuffs from primary buffclasses isnt exactly a viable solution to anything. On the contrary, the speccline for buffs isnt exactly something people consider as a fun thing to play mostly, why you wanna ruin it even more?

And tbh, shammys endregen >> hibbs endregen by miles. So I would gladly trade, so would probably 99% of all hibbis.

And I am not against putting range on all buffs mate, bots have pretty much ruined the game alot already so I dont mind if it goes away at all.

Anyways, this thread is silly enough already and I really cba to start the realmbalancediscussion again, my little rant was just something I tossed in since I thought what you proposed was a bit off. Laters.

As opposed 2 bard end where the whole group lose it if the bard gets hit/mezzed. the group also lose it if the bard/they run out of range.

Or pally end where ppl still lose it if the pally dies or moves out of range.....but more inportantly when he is mezzed, which unless he has purge up is a whole lot the time.

tho giving it 2 runies is a tiny bit of a strange idea

Master of Arms doesn't raise the lowered base-dmg with low-leftaxe specc, for that you need Duelist Reflexes, and you still suffer from high delay of a 2hander if you used it for PA even if you switch to two onehanded weapons after the PA.

So now you've got something to think about, right?

The BG1 reference is meant to highlight that lack of knowledge. As he doesn't list any characters in his sig, how would I know how many (if any) 50s he possesses?

mincers are not themselves an overpowered class
i can nearly take a buffed micer when unbuffed and he jumps me (equal rr)
unbuffed or both buffed and a skald should take a mincer most of the time (assuming no pet etc)
however if pure 1v1 ability was all that mattered healers and clerics would be utterly shite
micners as a class are not unbalanced, they don't have any uber abilities, or anything particulary uncommon, abla is sweet, but not overpowered
however as a realm, they are unbalanced in stealth wars, mincers become overpowered when grped with other alb stealthers because the other realms have no form of stealthed cc

Well, the af spec buff on the cleric is unique for alb, and having every infil,
scout and mincer with a buffbot have one, isnt actually help balancing the already
unbalanced stealth war. Same goes for druid haste.
And imo this is an issue to balance the fight between stealthers, since just about every stealther these days have a buffbot.

And as that friar pointed out that friar was the most balanced
class in the game, I dont think the having the spec af buff would
change that. My point is simply to nerf the alb/hib buffbot into line
with the mid one (from a stealther's point of view).
And before you all start to whine that buffbots shouldnt be taken
into consideration blah, blah. They should, that's the way mythic wants it (they make more money),
and from my personal experience in rvr, I meet 10 buffed stealthers for every unbuffed, so there is no point denying this fact.

And as for the different end regen of the three realms, i cant see why you want to trade your chants for the shammy style
end regen, there's seldom room for more then 1 shammy in a group, and speccing end to whole group blows half his conc pool,
leaving rest of group with 1 more spec buff each. And as for the issue about bard beeing messed, with todays purge, group purge, clear mezz, resists, etc, I see that as less of a problem then assist train ganking shammy, and he have to rebuff whole group mid fight after a rezz.

Keep in mind this is all from a solo stealthers point of view.
Now bring on the flames.
