Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on “a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki” in an attempt to “shake the Roman throne”, a reference to the West.

Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by Al-Qaeda planners as a “change in the head of the company”.

“ideally” before Blair steps down this summer

pritty shocking stuff.

but what made me laugh were some comments from people in the US. They really do think they own the world and are superia to everyone else.

When that bomb goes off in Britain we in the United States will lecture you about the sickening appeasement of Iran and Islamic nutjobs in the UK.

We acted after 9/11. You Brits think sticking your head in the sand and not fighting the threat of Islam around the world, and even in Britain itself, is the answer.

You will soon discover that it doesn't. Ask Neville Chamberlain what kissing Hitler's bottom did for the world.

that would then make us as bad as them, as much as I agree with you.

if our spy knows where these people are based over there and we directly attack them, how does it make us bad?

Tris is clandestinely informing us that the gum in his bum that he swallowed earlier is going to explode and that Al Qaeda have superloaded it with some supersized overpowered methane and various other biological nasties and he's going to fart in Tony Blairs face!!!!1:eek2:

I love this comment.

I wonder what the above commenters have to say if such an attack was carried out. Are they actually waiting for such an attack to be carried out? What will the West have to say if such an attack is carried out? Of course if such an attack was carried out we surly have lost

How many times does he want to use that phrase....

Anywho. I don't know what to think really. It could be a sympathy-ploy by the government to go to war with Iran, or it could be genuine. I don't kid myself that I have any control over the decision the government will make anyway, so I'm not about to spend much time thinking about them.

if we knew where they where I would have thought we would have sent in a team to get the job done.

somthing about this smell fishy but that might be the tuna I had for lunch :). The point was starting an all out war againt them I think would make us as bad as them but I also think we need to deal with this as quick as possable before it gets way out of hand but only time will tell.

I head the french has him as one point but as normaly they are a punch of pussys and didnt shoot. Altho I could be wrong on that I cannot 100% remember .

“A member of this network is reportedly involved in an operation which he believes requires AQ Core authorisation. He claims the operation will be on ‘a par with Hiroshima and Naga-saki’ and will ‘shake the Roman throne’. We assess that this operation is most likely to be a large-scale, mass casualty attack against the West.

AQ core authorization ? , sounds like bull to me :)

And because of that attitude, democracy doesnt work.

The report says there is “no indication” this attack would specifically target Britain,

um... doesn't that just contradict itself?
headline = be afraid, be very afraid
small print = we are just BSing about the threat

TBH I don't believe a word of it, this is prob just more justification for a war against Iran, and to encourage more islamaphobia here.

However, several plots involving “dirty bombs” - conventional explosive devices surrounded by radioactive material - have been foiled.

Um, the US military did tests on dirty bombs, and apparently they are only effective if you stand right next to the explosion site for a year and don't move. The force of the initial blast spreads the radiation out so thinly, that it is no different from the normal background radiation.

I always thought, that the dirty bombs the US have, were collected from Gamahs' underwear drawer :flame:
