um... doesn't that just contradict itself?
headline = be afraid, be very afraid
small print = we are just BSing about the threat

TBH I don't believe a word of it, this is prob just more justification for a war against Iran, and to encourage more islamaphobia here.

Um, the US military did tests on dirty bombs, and apparently they are only effective if you stand right next to the explosion site for a year and don't move. The force of the initial blast spreads the radiation out so thinly, that it is no different from the normal background radiation.

Dahakon has the right idea. It's all just cheap scare tactics, shame on you for falling for them off topicers! :twak:

I always thought, that the dirty bombs the US have, were collected from Gamahs' underwear drawer :flame:

Fecking hell Seel - can you stop adding bullshit to a good thread please. So annoying to read informative additions to the thread with your off-topicness inbetween. =/

On-topic: Most people already knew that a big attack would surely be incoming eventually, they just have it as a sub-conscious thought. That said, is publicising something which basically says 'al-qaeda will attempt to kill a lot of Britons' a good idea? I'd rather it be best left in the hands of the government, rather than establishing even more hatred towards Iran etc. by the general public.

Whatever the case, it's only a matter of time before it happens really - it just depends on how well it can be dealt with. We can only foil so many bomb cells and if one goes off, no doubt it's going to contain radioactive material, which IIRC, inhibits anyone within the radius for a good 80 years+.

I'm sick of this 'War on Terror' shit... Give a fucking 'War on Happiness" - We need more people wishing "free love" on the streets and blowing up party poppers!

Your logic is the sole reason why off-topic isn't as popular as it once was.

If you want to think like that, posting ANY thread like this in "Dark Age of Camelot: Off Topic" is logically wrong. It should be in the general section of the whole of FH.

Tightass.

I won't even bother replying to that as you seem to have lost the talent of reading.

Tip: read what I put again. >.<

@Chronic - believe it was discussed somewhere not too long ago.

Who could have done this dastardly deed????? WHO!???

By the way Bugz, i wouldn't take out the "FH:OT ain't as popular as it used to be" card without thinking it through, some might say you ain't that fit in saying what it used to be back in "the day" ;)

My point was valid. :) Was a reply to you and to what Toht said. Maybe I should of seen that you actually quoted me though. Also, I think you meant UNDERSTANDING, I can read quite well.

@Chron: I so swear, I'm not going to be the one to do it!

EDIT: Ruining a 'serious' thread, blah blah blah, makes OT gay, blah blah blah.

Don't worry - I don't lose sleep over not being an oldschool off-topic chum.

Clicky

Can't go wrong with what the actual forumites thought tbh.

'Lack of intellectually stimulating convos'
'all the "running jokes" between members just develop until they take over.'

etc.

@OD: Generally the quote kind of affects the whole post you know? ^^

1) Less editing posts as I quote you, makes me need to edit my posts.
2) People are allways welcome, they'll adapt. Lucky I got here before the personal jokes came through, so I got use to it.
3) Lies. I don't believe you. (NO, you may not refer back to 1) :<)

1. I felt I was originally too harsh and i don't like to become one of those pricks :/
2. Adaption isn't the point. People WANT convos which are interesting, they WANT less shitty banter between love birds on the forum. No use bringing in new people if we can't keep the old ones. GoA can do neither :D

anywho - I have to revise beta minus/plus decay as I've totally forgotten it! :<

Actually bugz, those are valid points but also not the main reasons.

The lack of good humor(thought up, time used to make 'em) makes the gay jokes less fun. They used to be filler jokes, always been around. But since noone takes the effort of posting good fun anymore(yes i know i'm lacking in that department too), it SEEMS that the gay jokes are an eplethera.

The "lack of intellectual convos" is also a valid point, but this can also be explained by the current "feel" around here. It's a fast paced, linkdump and lol mentality that's taking over the internet. Noone reads a wall of text anymore, they don't care for it, it needs to be faster to peek at when working.

The really big reasons for OT going "down" a notch, is the lack of old school members that knew how to keep the mental patients(like me, OD, Roo etc) in check and posted the reasonable things. They also knew not to take things too seriously, which is a rather biggie these days. The other reason being what i said before, this place being faster and more of a linkdump. It's the common trend around and quite like the 70's, the old days are hard to go back to.

As a whole, the reason off-topic has went down(not from the old days, but from say...half a year ago) is many in reason, and only YOU can prevent forest fires. Start more serious conversations, keep at it. I myself should go back in writing my looney threads that EVERYONE knows shouldn't be taken as the serious discussion threads. We need to bring back the days when "church" and "state" were separated and the looney and suitman walked hand in hand on that borderline doomsday line.

*looks up* Wow...rant-tastic...

EDIT: Also Congaxs' post below brought up another thing that i've noticed, these days it's osmehow wrong not to be the forum persona you are. Gamah has always been an attention whore and it was FINE. Nowadays it's like...umm..well...it's like complaining that i'm looney.

Rant pretty much sums everything up. But I've got ONE problem with it.

1) Should I be happy that you mentioned me in that.
2) SHOULD I take you calling me a mental patient as as compliment? XD

EDIT: Two problems ;P

From someone that always defends Bugz (Prolly your MSN buddy?) I'll ignore your obviously bias defensive comments about your little friend :p
I might be slightly biased, but you had your fair share of attention seeking tbh :D

The virtual attention makes me hard irl..you could pass me in the street and not know who i am so I really don't think I would be bothered about e-attention.

My "attention" seeking as you call it comes from boredem and the amusement of winding up people on-line.

Whereas Bugzy actually intends to be wellknown and all mighty famous all over the internet?
