Well, Tuthmes, I agree with you on the not taking things too seriously and all that, but I can believe that people find winning in a computer game equally as important as winning a football game.

Afterall, it are just a bunch of mates playing soccer against some other team? FG Rvr is just a bunch of mates battling online against some other team. It's all fun and games ofcourse, but games are always more interesting when you win.

Well for somebody that was a nobody, a lot of people seemed to know who I was? Weird. I currently also have an active Bainshee account which I log into, odd for someone that doesn't play. Unlike you, I don't seek to be "known" in an online game. I have friends/family and others who I need to respet of. I understand your possibly lacking in rl relationships, so being "known" in a online world is something big for you, but you need to understand that for some of us it doesn't matter.

I don't work in Slough, and I'm sorry that I live somewhere thats percieved as shit, honestly when I was 7 and my parents moved to Slough I should have said..but mummy in 14 years someone called cmr will use it in a weak attempt a flame on an interweb forum.

I didn't say it was sad that you like to win something, thats typical of a weak minded person, you can't argue of the facts so you attempt to twist sentences in order to make you think you have a valid point.

Yeah, you're right, I mean when I am playing poker in the casino or tournaments or riding cross country/road in charity events I think back to how I don't want to win at Daoc and thus don't want to win at anything. Assuming is another thing small minded (such as your good self) do.

I am not sure how you know I have not done anything, you have no idea what my job is or what I do in my spare time (although I gave you a small insight) Maybe I have spent a year in Africa helping children in war torn zones, maybe I havn't. So ask yourself why do you play this game? - fun?
Define fun then - Winning or playing together with certain people. There are a lot of different aspects to this game aswell. Roleplaying, pve, just chatting with people you know, etc.
You can't compare a computer game to something irl by anymeans, cause you lack a certain type of interaction, pixels, different enviroment, different aspect's, etc.
Winning can be an important aspect for you to have fun (or better said, you dont like loosing), there might be a lot of people playing not sharing your view on the game like this. Just because it's not that important for them to win in a (computer) game. Doesnt mean that those people immidiatly play worse then you. You can only push a button so many times in a second tbh.

Ill add to this, that a lot of people don't even care in how good they are in this game. After all, it's only pixels your playing with and this game (but this goes for most computer games, cause they get old) is die'ing anyway. So after +4 years of DaoC you where good in playing this game, nobody gives a fk irl tbh.

Some groups have better teamworks and do well in rvr then others, it depends on numours of things. And that all know, it can be stuff like dedication, not that good setup, not high realm ranks, and just havent played enough together or maybe mixed groups with diffrent players. If some group would really be dedicated as some "good" groups, they also would get alot better. But also sometimes maybe they just lack a leadership person that tells stuff whats needed.

But i dont get how u can say playing computer games is not irl? What is playing computer games? Well its a hobby, and its something you do IRL. Just with your irl time u sit infront of a computer. What if you would be laning with friends, would that be oki and count as doing something irl? Its not like a big diffrence using type messages or ventrilo/ts.

And some people hate to lose, so what? I hate to lose also, but sure u can also have fun and also lose fights ingame. It´s just diffrent from person to person how u react to diffrent things. Some just do the best of situation and accept it, some others do also best of situation but if not going so good they might take it to the next step. And wonder what can they do instaid to make it go better. Thats kinda how setgroups arrived, they wanted to perform better. What works, what doesnt work. And then take it from there

Dunno what my point of this is, but i just start typing and it end up pretty long sometimes But go ahead and whine if ppl add or zerg, but if people that maybe lost alot before cause of some groups they lost always again, now have a chance to perform better and maybe have more fun. Let them have it without all useless flame

I consider myself more of a roleplayer alot of times, just running around naked hugging people can't really be defined as some hardcore gaming :-p

fact is gamah the reason i replied like i did is because you are saying that people that basically do well at the game are sad because people know who they are etc, people dont set out to become well known, its just part of doing well or in some cases, being a twat..... and people known for playing well are obviously going to be resentful towards people known for being twats and want them to keep that reputation, i mean who here (only uk people may get this) likes jade goody? and who wants her to get hit by a double decker bus with pick axes and spikes on the front?
