This motivated me to re-install Age of Empires 2, a game I was godlike at back in the day. I am no longer godlike, I suckage.

They haven't announced whether it will be free to play yet or not; it probably won't be.

I'm hesitant to pass judgement on this game yet, but as a big fan of all of the old aoe games and old fashioned style rts in general I'm not getting my hopes up. Oh well I guess if it doesn't work out I can just stick with SC2.

so i got my beta key other day, seeing as i've had nothing else to do i've given it a whirl. It's a bit easy i'd say so far. But then again i'm only like level 8 so all the quests i'd guess scale with you.

you gotta level up to get the different ages and unlock "technologies" So atm i can only upgrade to age2 during a quest. You can't set up a sandbox random match like the others due to it being an online experience with questing an shit.
