With even my fairly low level bot my merc takes orange and red mobs with lower downtime than I was taking yellows without the bot.

just because Mythic have deemed it 'bad for business' to solve the problem (which im fairly sure it is, and also that this is the reason they arent), you dont HAVE to jump the band wagon you know.
I hate bots. i hate the thought of bots. i think less of the people who use it. Its not cheating as such (as has clearly been said here), but it still sucks pretty much the biggest elephant nuggets you can think of. Its a legal but unfair (and stupid) way to get an edge in the game. No need to put an emphazis on Legal, hm?

liste, seriosly, I dont like bots either and you know that, but as it is I see no other solution to make my fights a bit more even. I have died countless times to buffed infs and SB's and I am sick and tired of it, Its either to use a bot or stop RvRing totally for me atm and as a lvl50 RvR is one of the things that is left to do. You as an Alb dont know how bad it really is to be a hib atm.... It is really really bad now on prydwen. Stealthers everywhere and bots parked in PK's. It aint too fun to run to Emain or whereever and be sent home after 5s of fighting u know. I need RP's aswell as every stealther out there do.
Do you really expect me to go to RvR and die and die and die and die to botusers a hundred times more? No thanks, I dont think so. I rather quit playing then. I expect to loose a lot of fights while using a bot, I just hope they last a bit longer at least. It gives me an edge over players that dont use bots for sure, that is something I cant do anything about. What can I say? Sorry

So how can you tell if you died from someone using a bot rather than someone being buffed by a PC, is your blood less red from the latter?
I think it's very common for most PC's with characters that are able to do buffs, to lend some to the various players leaving the portalkeeps in all three of the realms, like healers putting Purity of X's (power regen) on the shamans and runies etc, this is the case in mpkh/mpke anyways. We (runemasters) even put dmg adds on the little sods leaving for thidranki

I keep tripping over the string. Aye i think the changes are fair. Now if only they would make buffs have a range like they do with speed songs (larger though) then we could play hunt the buffbot.

i think it is stupid that a bot in PK can provide steroids for an infiltrator in Yggra. Make it same range as for getting rp's (3 x clipping range). Or give then deminished range returns

i kinda saw it coming for a while, so i got off the infil-alt bandwagon after having some fun in the BG
now its for the CHANTER BANDWAGON! they will be getting nerfed too, but who cares, bandwagons own. and pork chop selling lurikeens > all you infils

i dont get the whole realm points hype to be honest.
you go RvR, you get a few kills, you die. wether you made 5 rps or 1000k, makes little difference, to the fun. you still got the kills.
Realm points will come sooner or later, anyways. and RAs? well, every class has a few that they MUST have. very few classes need more than 30 points to cover this. and after that? theres no real goal anymore, however vague rr4 was.
took me 67 days /played (and steadily increasing) to get RR4, and i have no intention or illusion to ever get RR5. And i dont really care. I still get a few kills once in a while, and on the days where i dont, i usually spend my time doing something else.
Each to their own, i suppose.. i just cant see how a buffbot will ever be the solution.

liste, buffbot is the difference between getting a few kills and then dying and just dying to the first person you meet for some of us. Dying without getting to really fight someone gets boring after the 4th or 5th time.

ras really helped me out in pve... cutting downtimes, that IP is nice if a solo pulls goes wrong (whoops 4 weewees...). And my ras will probably help me allot more in SI as well...
But they need to add in more variety... spellcrafting/alchemy is a good step on the way...
But like different looking weapons, different looking armor... something to add some individual flavor to our beloved characters...

Aye, pve wise RAs are nice. Though in rvr - what's the point of assasin attacking anyone if battery heal is up - afaik its 1000 pts heal, so i can as well destealth and sit down as well as perf someone.

You can tell if someone is buffed. They hit harder/quicker evade all the time and seem to have endless hp.
There is difference between getting some in a group and from loading up with 10 buffs and moving out. If your friend dies your buffless. Is your bot?
MAKE BUFFS RANGE DEPENDANT
Buffs are for working as a group. If you go scouting amg and your group is at mmg. You shouldnt get the benefits of your group buffs. This would deter scouts from soloing whilst giving reports back to his group. The difference between buffs and no buffs is enormous. It would be a horrible thought that you get grouped just to get buffs so you can bugger off elsewhere and throw back reports whilst soloing.
Its a shame that this game comes down to real life money to determine how good you will be and only a tadge down to the effort you put into it. Think of it. You have to have 2 P.C.s buy two games, two subscriptions. Some people just go out and buy there buffbot. So you have the price of that too. Not everyone can do that.
What do you achieve? Well you can feel as uber as you want for you have just payed extra to buy the cheat called THE EASY level where your life gets easier and others get a tad harder.
Buffbots should have no part of this game. Let me rephrase that. Buffbots should be open to as much risk as the player who is benefitting from them. Buffs should be the benefit of working in a close group.
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE EASY AND FAIR AND COULD BE IMPLEMENTED IN THE NEXT PATCH. BUFFS SHOULD BE RANGE DEPENDENT.
So any person who is clever with the links and could help. Please post the right place for people to enrol and petition Mythic. I think a lot of guilds could point people to this link because I know there are more people who wish BB's would disappear rather than force people who are against them to buy one purely because they feel they cant compete fairly with others who have them.

problem with putting rang eon buffs isnt down to how it could affect the game.. its all about the money... why would mythic nurf buffs like that.. if they did they would prolly loose 20%+ of there subscriptions. simply because people that own a second account purely for a buffbot would just cancel.. that and in some extreme ways cancel there main account as well.

20% is a high unqualifiable figure. Buffbots could still be used for PVE but I grant that very few people have second accounts for that reason.
Its all about perception. If people complain long enough about an issue and how its making them want to quit, then things can be done. If they are only caring about the short term I think it would be safe to say they see DAoC as past its best and on the downward slope. I have fought with buffs and without. Everyone knows what a big difference it currently has to your chance of winning or you wouldnt stump up the extra dough for it.
I forgot to mention. I dont regard a speedbot as an unfair advantage. I'd rather bump into someone with a speedbot than two people playing a minstrel and an armsman. That bot is also at the risk of death like anyone else outside there pk.
If you are conscientous about killing greys you cant have a buffbot and kid yourself your killing evencons. What con do you reckon a fully buffed Infil would be to an unbuffed SB of even RR. What you see is yellow but in reality I think it would be like a red at best Orange. The misses are currently consistent with a red. Thank goodness for evade cap. hm for me this is not the case at all, I have no desire to feel "uber", I just want a fair chanse, thats all.... Reason I play Daoc is to have fun, not to own everyone.
RvR without a bot sucks as soon as you go solo since you are an easy prey to infs and SB's. I solo mostly in RvR and thus need a way to get on the same lvl as my predators, simple as that. Doesnt mean that I feel that Mythic shouldnt look this over again and do something about it though, It is a problem for many nowadays.

I'm glad you would like to seen it reviewed.
With that fair chance come the unfair ones too. Are you trying to say that more people solo with buffs than without at the moment?
Do you catch up grouped people lagging behind or looking fo other solo players. There is a difference to whats called fair. Hence why buff range is the most sensible solution. If you have caught someone buffed who is straying not far from his pack. Why should he not be buffed? Its not fair that you would be when your soloing. If your class was meant to have buffs, when running around solo, then just add them to your spec lines
As i said before people against buffbots are being bullied into it if they have the rightconditions to accomodate it. Those who cant, get ganked or give up soloing. It doesnt encourage a game to flourish quite the opposite. High price = increased risk of population decrease. No matter what the explanation for BB's. Mythic is encouraging people to cheat. Cheating is exactly what it is pure and simple. If I found a hack that increased all my stats and applied it on killing people, What would happen to me?
Do you know the exact location where people can lobby for change? Its not the class boards on VN boards is it, as that splits everyone up?

actually, as a ranger I am heavily attacked by both SB's and Infils. Those 2 classes are the ones that uses bots the most I believe. Its quite easy for me to spot when I am attacked by a buffed assassin, they simply hit like monsters and fast and evade a helluvalot. Most dont even land PA and still I loose and they run off with 90%+ health.
When I meet an unbuffed assassin it tends to be more even if they miss PA. Its as it should be, if an assassin lands their Alphastrike and CD I should be dead for allowing them to do so. If an assassin misses PA, it should be a closer call. This is correct while we both are unbuffed, however, this is not how it is today, I easily die 5 times minimum to a buffed inf or SB/day runnin solo either on the way to Emain, or in Emain in some corner somewhere. This is about 10 minutes of my time I waste /run to emain which equals out to 50 minutes. This is not fun. Some days I have had streaks with 10 deaths in a row and just logged after that and not played for 2 days or something. This is not fun. Get my point?

Mythic have categorically stated it is not cheating. You may not like buffbots, but they are not a cheat. It's very easy to scream cheat and try to whip people up into a frenzy to support you. Given you have valid arguments, I'm surprised you feel the need to use such a dubious tactic as this, it does more harm than good to your cause.

The only classes that should b buffed solo r the classes that have it in their Specline. End of Story. They r usually classes that have week attacks and the buffs r ways of levelling it out for them.
Each class should play to their own specline stats and not be influenced by other stats and buffs. As to rangers getting killed by Infils and other stealthers, that is the risk u run just like If u spot them first u shoot them first, then they not have a chance.
On excalibur Server Alpha has 1 or two buffbots and kills a Spearo with ease? He is a Minstrel FFS, U think that this is right?
If DAOC not look into this soon then a lot off peeps will leave.
Peeps using Buffbots in RvR are CHEATS END OF STORY. U play this game to test urself and class against other classes not to play 2 Vs 1.
