This isn't the only case, and we the civilian population might not have tolerated it, but the teams officers sure didn't seem to mind, or care and the military does it's usual attempts at covering up until it can't be covered up any more. Do you really think that they would have gotten these harsh sentences if the media hadn't played it up? Because there's a quite large history of just giving demotions or 10 months or whatever in military brig for things like this.We NEVER tolerated what the killteam have done, and they will most likely either get lifetime or deathpenality for what they did.
Our crimes are actually worse in my opinion, since they are professionals rather than an angry mob, not really knowing how to effectively deal with their country being permanently occupied lashing out - because that's what it really is, the Qur'an burning might be what triggered it but the anger didn't come from that alone.
Actually a good comparison to the west would be the Tea-party, sure it hasn't killed anyone but they are pretty much in the same seat. Angry at being screwed over constantly, but not knowing where and how to direct that anger so when people with an agenda gives them an enemy, they don't stop to think about it they just go for it.
