A quest for good music!

OK, I am currently a little bored of my current music tastes (very broad but generally rock and metal) and I am trying to find some good music to drive to. I'm really into the Prodigy at the moment (Voodoo People = teh win), and I'm looking for more similar music. Ideally something that combines industrial/metal with good dance music and maybe a little hip-hop. A kind of Rammstein meets Body Count meets Prodigy.
I went to see Blade 3 at the cinema and thought the music to that was brilliant, however the OST only had crappy boring R'n'B shit - but if anyone knows music that is like the stuff played during the action sequences of that film (and most vampire films actually  ) then please tell me!!

What I generally like: Machine Head, Faith no More, Rammstein, Prodigy, Ministry, Rage Against the Machine, Eminem etc.

What I don't like: R'n'B shit, crap dance music that gives you a headache and is just boring.

Please help me as I have to drive a lot with my job and I'm running out of music!!

Try some Five Iron Frenzy, Dropkick Murphys and Kill 2 this.
Other than that, the only other thing I can subject is Clawfinger.

Hope that helps.

Can only say what I like. :p

At the moment it's Spineshank, Hoobastank, Static-X, KoRn, Ill Niño.

Got a generally wide taste though, love bands such as Slipknot, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Iron Maiden, Mnemic, Marilyn Manson. They're just not flavour of today, though. :p

It's mostly Alternate/Death metal in that list though, so if that isen't what you like, don't try it. :p

Spineshank is very nice though, should check that out first.

Can't beat this for car music. Be careful though you might find yourself going over the 100mph mark while listening to this stuff. :p

Nightlife <-- a personal favourite, some of the greatest dnb tunes ever on there.

DnBarena <-- CD2 on this is absolutely sick(in the good way). Another personal favourite.

The genre is drum and bass in case you were wondering. Of course, if you've heard dnb before and don't like it then these won't be for you but in my opinion this is the only car music. :)

Type O Negative, for laugh's if you need em.

Stuff I'm listening to at the moment:

Taking Back Sunday
Funeral for a Friend
The Mars Volta
Hoobastank
In Flames
Finch

...well loads of stuff, but some of that will be different to your current listening habits; try Funeral for a Friend first, songs like "Red is the New Black". In fact the whole album is bloody good (if you like emo/metal with a bit of screaming).

Eminem - hahahaahahahahhaahahaa :m00:

Whats wrong with Eminem? It seems fotm to dismiss him due to his success, but a lot of his stuff is really good. Listen to the lyrics and you learn a lot about the world

A lot of your suggestions are great - but maybe I should have been a bit more precise about what I was after. I'm looking more for techno/DnB/metal crossover rather than ambient synth eletcronica or just plain metal. Think Rob Zombie's Dragula, or Pitchshifter Genius rather than plain metal.

Its so difficult to try and explain what I mean :p

Oh, and I don't want death metal/EMO screaming/growling - just gives me a headache and makes me want to turn the music off ;)

Typically the metal electronica crossover genre is VERY poor. There are very few examples of anything resembling decency. Remember its mainly second rate pop artists who wanna sound 'diverse'. The two examples you have given are probably the two best well known albums.

If youre after more alternative variants you could try some of these but note they are more experimental and some of them prefer the pastiche of noise/random samples more than beats; Brainiac,Kid606, Some of the albums in the 'DJ Kicks' series, primal scream.. memory banks are running low now sorry... I find low-fi Dub better in cars personally or early emo like Drive like Jehu, still whatever floats your boat.

Edit: Dub Narcotic have done some mixes of well known bands like JSBX and others you could look at em. But its more Dub/alt rock than metal/electronica

Stuff I suggested isn't headache material.

Try Mars Volta, you'll like them. Or Coheed and Cambria.

Try some Keane, Coldplay (Peronsal FAV!) and Snow Patrol all of these three bands are doing well at the moment. If all else fails go for some Red Hot Chili Peppers!!! By far the best band out at the moment..... also Guns 'n' Roses are cool :).

Ok enough already :) The original poster has asked for a particular genre not your favorite bands... We will be here all day otherwise.

dont mean to be rude, but how can you have a broad taste in music when its all in one main genre? A wide taste would be like John Peel's (RIP) taste, everything and anything that was good.
