Prices are still high compared to where they were 3 years ago but they're heading in the right direction.

I think 16 is more than enough but I do like big numbers so could go to 32!

going to 16GB on the workstation, and faster too. I have 32GB in my server, run 8 vm's on it (several linuxes and the Windows 10 evaluation) and have never yet ran in to any memory limits.

actually, it's a simulated compute cluster, a database, the W10 evaluation a graphite server and a development server. They're all networked, so I can go proper-student and lounge about on my couch in my boxersshorts while running a full blown IDE over X and writing teh codez.
