8 port router

my current old netgear rp614 is on the blink gets too hot too thouch radomly dissconects. now with our kit i need somat that will let me connect 8 devices (ps3,360,wii,pc,pc,shop till,2 xboxes running xbmc) ive come across this one Linksys.com - Products/Wired/Basic Networking/Routers, Modems & Gateways/BEFSR81

which looks ok for what i whant ti for and price wise its sound. are there any other ones peeps may wana suggest?

Thought about a standard router + switch? Network switches are dirt cheap nowadays and saves the hassle of finding a decent 8port router.

Think I might have to agree with nath on that - not a great deal of call for 8 port routers with switches being commonplace and well priced.

However - half of your kit is connectable via wireless - although I understand many people's willing to stick with cables it might help both pricewise and due to cable management.

But, going back to a separate switch, you've also then got the peace of mind - if one part fails, you've only got to replace half the kit rather than all of it.

all 8 things have been wired up some time now, ive just been plugging and unplugging things at diff times & i only connect a wap when ever
i stock take with my pda or sort out orders or if my bro/sis visit and want to use thier lappys.

Wireless bridges are quite neat, they come under the guise of a "Wireless Games Adapter" too, much better solution than Wireless NICs.
