BBC NEWS | England | London | Tube strike begins as talks fail
Sorry, but I have to say, fuck the RMT.
Sorry, but I have to say, fuck the RMT.
i've said it before and i'll say it again - they should outlaw strikes for public services.
5% in the current climate (and guaranteed no compulsory redundancies) is a bit of a joke to be honest.
Sack them all, lower the wages by 10% and readvertise their jobs which would all go inside a day.
I shall be walking to Old Street from Waterloo and back due to these greedy bastards.

Tube system is and always has been a massive hostage tool for the unions, Boris should take the suicide run and break up the Unions and privatise the thing... London without Tube does not work.
maybe this is a ploy by the union to barter the london underground management into something more reasonable, start high accept less, but that less is what you wanted in the first place.
it isnt a national strike so stop moaning, its not liek you cant get on another form of transport, plus who said you cant strike if you work in a public server organisation, that jsut rubbish and open to abuse from the employers.
i am not on any side but the workers have rights and their union does have shit loads of members so should be taken seriously, so until the tories get in and abolish any union membership then you lot will just have to stfu and take it on the chin![]()
Some commentators have argued that we should accept that, in a recession, our members should be grateful that they have jobs. RMT rejects that. It wasn't our members who created the downturn and we will not be bullied into accepting that they should be forced to pay for an economic crisis that was cooked up by the bankers and the politicians.
Neither did any of us but we have all made sacrifices during this recession
While many view Johnson's grasp of industrial relations as fairly weak, he was not at the negotiating table. Both sides present appeared to want to settle but the deal came unstuck over job security for former Metronet staff. With no sign of this being resolved, further disruptions appear likely at this stage.
