Dead Kennedys - Awesome punk band from 70s
Gogol Bordello - Russian Gypsy punk band thats on the rise. Totally fucking rip it up live, absolutely mental.
Kyuss - Aptly titled stoner rock. is great to spark up and just sit and listen
Primus - Dont really know how to describe it, found it through southpark
Capdown - skacore band, love the tracks with brass in, although latest album was a pile of shit.
King Prawn - quality ska/dub/punk/metal band. werent that big so probably hard to find since theyve split. fucking quality though.

1 - Les Claypool, the man is genius and has fingers which defy the laws of physics. Also a great storyteller.

2 - Keith Moon, great drummer, insane like all the best drummers, could hold a perfect beat whilst flailing wildly. Was the inspiration for animal off the muppets, nuff said. Partied harder than anyone ever.

3 - DJ Shadow, Endtroducing, to me, redefined mixing from a backing to mcing into a true artform.

4 - Johnny Ramone, never have so many chords been so powerfull, the speed of his picking revolutionised music more than most other musicians.

5 - Green River, the starting point for so many great bands.

Wow, that's a really hard choice tbh:

- Nightwish: Both songs and lyrics are great and they have a really good live performance aswell
- The Beatles: Well I think it's imperative to at least listen once to the daddys of Rock =)
- Amorphis: Their ability to change their style of music is really good and I think they're really good artists aswell. It's important to listen to at least one track of each album though, because if you start with "Black Winter Day", you will get a very wrong impression
- Demons & Wizards: A master of the guitar meets a master of voice. Even non-metal people told me that they really like D&W and I'd say that when it comes to skill, these two guys are top notch


That's only four, but I wanted to keep it bands I think are really worthwile to everyone, not to "insiders" only. Sure, I could name "Amon Amarth" for their awesome gigs, "Within Temptation" for thei fascinating songs, "Moonsorrow" for their really long and interesting songs or even "Horde" for doing something really different =)
Point is, the four ones I named are those who I think are those who really stand out =)

Hmmm... So the fact I like Dragonforce means my music taste sucks? (Or am I misreading this?) Pleanty of threads where I've listed my music preferences.

I admit, I'm drawn towards Synth.. Having a Industrial fetish... Ayria/BlutEngel/NIN/Skinny Puppy etc... Then normal stuff like Pantera/Slayer

Dosent really matter what I think tho, I guess people can like all sorts of different stuff, I just took you for one of same taste as me when i saw in a previous post you named Sentenced, and now Slayer, etc. Was just amused to see you pop up dragforce.

But you probably have a broader taste than me just.

It's just that the amount of synth they put in to replace certain drumbeats/riffs make them seem to me almost like a parody of metal/powermetal.

I just dislike Dragonforce alot for this, and hence the "HAHAHA" at initial post, guess it was abit uncalled for really, apologies ^_^.

firstly, that is an outrageous claim to make, dont get me wrong I like Dragonfoce but to say they are better than Muse? thats crazy talk.

secondly, the Streets are quality, not so much what people think of when you say mike skinner "fit but you know it" and "dry your eyes mate" but the original stuff like "the irony of it all" that is a quality song. That's off the album Original Pirate Material.

BOB SCHNEIDER! get some, he's pretty small i mean almost exclusive to the US and even then only realy know in Austin, Texas but he's had a few commerical albums and personally i love this guys music
