Ok so you are saying there isn't a huge social group thats developed, i.e. Indie kids, who straighten their hair, wear skinny jeans and leather jackets who all like the same music?
They are the only ones who really like Pete Doherty/jump to defend.
I dont think this thread is about the origins of musicMeh. Could make a lot of comments about some of the ephemeral people listed here as 'must-hear' musicians, but here instead are 5 people many probably haven't heard, but should. 5 genuinely important musicians, people who changed everything that came after them.
Dragonforce
HAHAHA
HAHAHA
They're a local band for me, I like them. They're better than Enter Shikari and Muse :S
Saying that, I like Nightwish aswell..
EDIT:
So, why didn't you HAHAHA at people who posted things like Xzibitititi or The Streets? :S
by main stream i mean the stuff that gets played on the radio all the time. non-mainstream is what is only found on the album. those only on the album are the best ones.
3: Frank Zappa.
Your fucking useless :]
Skinny jeans - No
Leather jacket - No
Your the type of guy who stereotypes i see. So i guess all muslim people are evil aswell cos this one muslim done something? ETC ETC.
;]
Ye i also believe all muslims are terrorists and all asians are good at maths![]()
I have yet to meet someone outside the 'indie kid' group who likes Pete Doherty, as most of them agree that he is just a hypocrite who 'claims' hes a 'libertine' (read fights for freedom..) when he lives an incredibly hedonistic lifestyle and chases tabloid headlines. I mean seriously what does he actually say in his songs?

Your asking what he says in his songs, But claimed all his songs were shit.
Im happy someone like you popped up cos i forgot how fucking idiotic and hypocrit like some people can be ;]
Nice one![]()
What the hell are you talking about? I've listened to his songs, the lyrics are completely inane. I really do think their shit, and by asking you for any meanings in his songs in no way contradicts the fact i think they're all shit.
It's just that psychotic-synth humping they got going on that makes me giggle, sorry, you're entitled to your own taste of music of course.
I dont think this thread is about the origins of musicnor is anyone elses opinions here any less valid than your own, personally i didnt like Miles Davis at all but loved the likes of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker
Id say Matisyahu, one of the few reggaeartists who have got a somewhat "public brakethrough" in the last few years, maybe togheter with Gentleman.
Next would be Magic Systems, african(?) band. Really awesome.
Those are the two I can think of right now![]()
....5. Matisyahu - A bit different to the others, this guy is very roots reggae orientated but a bit different with hasidic (Strict orthodox Jewish) reggae with a powerful message of love and purity.....
So true!1) Dillinja
Gentlemans awesome, one of the artists that i really hope i get the chance to see live. Not heard of Magic systems but will check them out. I'm massively into reggae so ill throw a few more names down for people to check
Barrington Levy
Sizzla (early works only)
Jah Cure
Garnett Silk
all quality
King without a Crown the live version... such a tune!
1) Dillinja, one of the old greats of drum and bass still producing some sick tunes, and of course helped to develop the Valve sound system!
2) Subfocus, top class DJ and producer constantly tearing up dancefloors.
3) TC, sick sick producer every DJ in DnB is slipping a couple of his tunes into their sets.
4) Logistics, hmm because I love to come home and chill out to his music
5) Andy C, no one can mix like this guy.. never fails to put on a good show, he is taking drum and bass to new places.
